Nothin’ but love.

I can’t remember the last time I posted any handspun. These two skeins have been languishing for months. I just hate counting yardage. I probably could get a fancy gadget to count the yards for me, but they’re spendy and I’m just too cheap.

Without further ado.

Fiber Stats:

Strawberries and Chocolate

100% South African Fine
145 yds 14 WPI
3.85 oz 109.15g

fiber credit: “Hungry For Handspun

colorway: “Cow Cat”

I really love South African Fine. The stuff almost spins itself and it’s so soft. I also love pink and brown together. I just do.

Fiber stats:

Nuclear Purple

100% Targhee
195 yds 14 WPI
4.5 oz 127.57oz

fiber credit: “Hungry For Handspun

colorway: “Purple Fog”

I love love love this colorway. The purple is electrifying. The Targhee is so soft and so easy to spin. Love I tell you. Love.

Both of these skeins are up for sale over at The Opalescence. As are the umpteen billion stitch markers I made this week. Well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration. It just feels like I made umpteen billion. :P

I’m having a promotion right now. If you buy a skein of yarn, you get a free set of Teeny Markers of my choice. If you buy two sets of regular stitch markers, you get a free set of Teeny Markers.

So now’s the time to shop for last minute gifties for those knitters in your life and to treat yourself. Mmmkay?

On the home front, I tried to get a good photo of the Scheyer. He’d have none of it.

Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks for stickin’ around.

Just for fun, I decided to take a photo of all the shawls I have in progress.

From left to right, we have the Swallowatail (PDF File), the Lyra (Ravelry), the Travelling Woman (Ravelry), and then the itty bitty black piece is supposed to be the Daybreak. What I don’t have pictured is the Boxleaf Triangle and the Herbivore.

Why so many?

Well, I reached the nupp section of the Swallowtail and I didn’t think that would make good car knitting. So I thought, “Hey!, The Daybreak will work!” Plus, that’s supposed to be a present for Mom.

The problem with that is I chose to do it in black. I’m also having problems remembering how to differentiate between make one left and make one right.  So.  Not good car knitting.

As for the Lyra? Definitely not good car knitting.

That’s how the Travelling Woman came to be. I didn’t want to throw that yarn back in the stash after having ripped the Damson and I didn’t want to attempt the Damson again.  So. I started the Travelling Woman.

In the end I worked on the Swallowtail in the car.

Ha!

As for the Herbivore? I was 3/4ths into binding off when I ran out of  yarn.

Yeah.

So. I need to rip back a few rows to make sure I have a nice garter stitch edge then I can bind off again. But it’s the whole “rip back a few rows” that’s holding me back.

The Boxleaf Triangle has been hibernating for months. I just lost interest in it.

Hopefully, posting about all these projects will get my ass in gear and motivate me to finish some of these up.  The weather is certainly cooperating!

There’s nothing like a rainy day to get the knitting mojo in gear.

Happy Monday, people! (That sounds so wrong.)

There’s been some spinning.

I still have to wash and thwack it. More on this once it’s done.

There’s also been some plying.

It took me days to ply this. In the end,  I was too fed up to wind it off. So you get a photo of it on the bobbin. More details to come.

I have other things cooking around here. Figuratively speaking. One of which is a sale over at my Artfire shop. Everything there is 15% off until the new year.  It’s a good time to grab some gifties or to treat yourself to something nice. :)

I’m also trying to figure out a sale for my Etsy shop Opalescent Jewels. Details to come forthwith.

Sammy is contemplating life, the universe, and everything.

Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully I’ll return with a more coherent post tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’m off to the dentist.

Eeps.
