Lazy Day

After a night of nearly 11 hours of sleep, I’m feeling particularly lazy today.  So all I’ve got is this photo of my Bicycle Bracelet that I took for the artfire shop.

If it makes Naomi happy, maybe it’ll make you happy too.

One more thing.

Continuing on with how pleased my boys are with me,  here’s Scheyer looking ever so happy to see me.

Sometimes I think that the boys will either kill me in my sleep or destroy the camera.

Hrm.

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a great weekend! I promise to come back with some real content next week. :D

I decided to pick up a long lost hobby.

You know. Since I had nothing else to do.

So I made this.

I am supremely unhappy with the face, but there was only so much I could do with such a small surface to work on. Otherwise I’m okay with it.

Why did I pick up cross-stitch again?

It all started with a marathon session of True Blood over at my friend Blogless Sandy’s house a few weeks ago. It was a 90F day  and the humidity was typical for Hawaii, which means it felt like it was through the roof.  To add to this  Sandy doesn’t have air conditioning. Blech.

To continue on, Sandy and Blogless Maria were needlepointing while we watched and I had the now huge Clapotis on my lap.

Guess who was happy and who wasn’t? Yeah.

Plus, they were working on some really beautiful pieces. I’ve never gotten into needlepoint but I’ve cross-stitched on and off for most of my life and my mother cross-stitches on and off as well. This is why my house is littered with cross-stitch supplies.

And this is how I came to pick it up again at 1am on a Saturday morning.

o.O

It’s not over yet either. I’m already working on another piece.

Whereas the Buttercup Fairy took me about two weeks to finish, this next one should be a quickie.I started this on Monday and this was my progress as of yesterday morning.  (Yeah. I was too lazy to take another picture this morning, but I’m halfway done with the mantle.)

I just love this cat! Maybe a little too much. I think someone is getting jealous.

I just can’t seem to win with the boys this week.

o.O

Happy Wednesday, folks!

Megan has finished her socks.

So here I am upholding my end of the deal.

It’s a good thing I finished something over the weekend, eh?

That little thing is called the Diamond Mine Bracelet and I used 6 different shades of blue crystals along with size 15 Charlottes and size 11 seed beads.

I think I started it in June.

What? I was busy flitting around from hobby to hobby!

Seriously. It’s not that I didn’t have fun making this bracelet, I just had so many other things going on that this wasn’t a priority.

Want a closer look?

I’m so happy this is done because this bracelet is in my favorite shade of blue. It’s going to match quite a few outfits in my closet and that makes me happy as a fish in the sea.

I’m already planning another bracelet in purples, because next to blue what could be better then purple?

I even thought of dyeing the boys purple and blue. They’re reaction made me decide against it. As you can see, they’re still not happy with me.

For those of you who have a long weekend, I hope you’re enjoying it! For those of you who don’t? I’m sorry!

P.S.  I would never dye my boys. That was meant as a joke.

I thought I’d just drop in and let you all know that I’m having a Labor Day Sale over at my Artfire shop! From midnight tonight until Sunday everything will be 25% off! I’ll be adding new stock to that shop today and tomorrow as well.

At least I hope to.  Who knows if my hands can handle it?

Here’s some of the new items I’ve already added.

(and no, the image doesn’t link to the shop because i  don’t want to get in trouble with flickr.)

Also, this does not count as a real blog post. But the gauntlet has been thrown! I’ve challenged Megan to finish her socks by Monday. If she finishes her socks, I’ll start blogging again.

I’m pretty sure she can do it since she was on the ribbing while I was on the phone with her last night.

/sigh

So expect to hear more from me soon!
