I’ve been doing a lot of running around this week doing various errands. While it’s all made me a little tired, it did give me a lot of time to finish up my latest sock project, the Seaweed Lace Socks.

Pattern: Ribbed Lace from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch
Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock in Seaweed
Needles: size 1US/2.25mm Harmony DPNs
Started: November 18, 2007
Finished: January 2, 2008

I think the Shibui just might be my favorite sock yarn. It’s soft and squishy and the color changes are very subtle. I’m all about the semi-solids and solids these days. So their colorways are right up my alley.
For a change of pace, I decided to use double points instead of my usual two circular method. I can’t say that it effected me much knitting wise, but I was rather annoyed when I would pick it back up and have stitches fall off the needles. If I were planning on knitting more with double points then I’d probably have to invest in some Needle Tamers.

What else can I say? I loved this project! I loved the yarn. I loved the pattern. I loved the needles. I think that’s why I took so long in finishing them. I wanted to prolong the ecstasy. It’s a good thing I have more Shibui in my stash. :)
