Dave coined the term Dugly-Ucks and I can’t think of a better moniker for these socks. At least they’re finally finished.

Pattern: Chevron from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch (66 sts)
Yarn: Zwerger Opal Sock Yarn / Mystery Colour
Needles: 2.25mm Knit Picks Circulars
Started: July 20, 2007
Finished: August 6, 2007

Despite the problems the forethought heel gave me, I did enjoy trying something out of my normal repertoire. I wouldn’t mind trying this heel with a yarn that has proper stripes instead of the odd bands of colour this yarn had.

I’m still not sure if I really like the way the stitch pattern and this yarn work together, but I did enjoy knitting it. I’m sure that I’ll be using the Chevron stitch again.
There is one thing that I did like about this sock and that’s the top of the cuff. The garter stitch rows give a nice dainty edge that ripple ever so subtly.

I don’t think this is one of my more successful projects, but these socks do match a lot of my wardrobe. So maybe my opinion will change once I gain some distance from them.
In the meantime, I’ve got other socks going on that make me much happier. More on them later. ;-)
