Finally finished is the Spring Things Shawl. This was an amazingly fast knit and it was an incredibly fun knit too.

Started: April 12, 2007
Finished: April 25, 2007
Pattern: Spring Things Shawl
Yarn: Jaggerspun Zephyr in Sage
Needles: Addi Lace Needles size 3US

After some initial bumps and false starts, I really became enamored of the simplicity of the upper body pattern. It was soothing and relaxing to knit. The pattern is well written and the charts are easy to read.

As I worked my way into the more complicated pattern of the shawl, I was particularly delighted that I invested my money in the Addi Lace needles to work the nupps. While I have some problems working the stitch with my Balene DPNs, I had absolutely no troubles with the superior German needles. I can’t stress to you how well worth the money these needles are.
I have to admit that I was concerned with how tiny the shawl came out as well. But I think that I found a recipient that will be delighted with the size of it. I’ll have to wait and see as I’m not ready to send it to her quite yet. It won’t be quite a surprise, but by the time I do send it to her, maybe she’ll have forgotten all about it. I’m really terrible at sending packages out.
I know how easy it is to send packages out from home, but I tend to hold out on sending them out because I want to put in just one more thing. Just one more thing then it will be ready! It’s a character flaw. I’m working on it.
