Lesson Learned!

Posted under socks

You were right, you can enjoy the process and still have progress to show for it! After what seems like eons, I finally have something to show for all my knitting time. A pair of finished Pomatomus socks.

Pattern: Pomatomus by the ever talented Cookie A.

Yarn: Mystery Yarn. We may never know what it is.

Needles: Size 2.5mm / 1US Knitpicks Classic Circular

Started: 2/10/07

Finished: 3/1/07

What can I say about these socks that haven’t been said? I adore this pattern. It’s funky and intuitive. The colours in this yarn are so gorgeous that I nearly wet my pants whenever I had a chance to work on them. The only thing I didn’t like about this sock were the heels.

Cookie used ribbing for the heel flap and I just didn’t care for a stretch heel flap. So I decided to use the eye of partridge on my heel flaps. Only I thought I could be an outlaw knitter and just whip them up from memory, without looking it up. So instead of doing plain purl rows, I ended up doing a p1, sl1, which really killed my hands. I bitched and moaned through every single row. Just ask my friends. Needless to say the lesson has been learned the hard way.

Repeat after me, “Google is your friend. Google is your friend.” Continue as needed.
