Yesterday you all got a glimpse of one of the things I’m working on. Here’s a better idea of what they are.

Have you figured it out yet? This might help you out.

Socks! That’s right these are the Here Be Dragons socks from The Keyboard Biologist in Deepest Forest from Fearless Fibers. I’m using size 0US Classic Circular needles from Knit Picks.
Even though my tired mind can’t seem to memorize the stitch repeat, this pattern is every bit as joyous as people have said it is. I particularly enjoy working with this yarn. It’s so soft and the colour variegations are subtle enough that it doesn’t distract from the pattern.
For some reason though, other projects keep tearing me away from the socks. Yesterday some online friends told me that I should start a project because it would be good luck. So I did. Can you guess what it might be?
Contest!
That’s right I’m holding a contest! A little something to chase away the post-holiday blues. Here’s the rules:
- Guess what the mystery project is to the best of your ability and be as specific as you can.
- Email you answer to opal AT akamaiknitter DOT com with the subject CONTEST or leave your answer in the comments.
- You have until Tuesday, January 9th to enter.
Here’s a hint:

Here’s the booty:

Clockwise from the top is Wool of the Andes Bulky in Wine, Opal in a one of a kind colourway (have to have Opal yarn in the booty), and Peruvian Highland Wool in colour 2055.
If there is more then one correct answer, I’ll put all the names in a bowl and draw a one winner. There may be 2nd and 3rd place prizes to come. I may also be putting out more hints during the week to follow, it all depends on how people do. You’ll just have to keep reading to find out. I’m shameless, aren’t I?
Good luck!
