Tonight I went on over to the Aloha Knitters meeting and had a smashing good time. Veronica of V-Spot was there and so was Knitty Bird. I love Veronica’s sense of humor and KB’s sense of fashion. Veronica worked on a cute little washcloth with hearts all over it, KB worked on a gorgeous sweater from Loop-D-Loop, and I worked on Lexi’s Entrelac Scarf. A good time was had by all.

Michelle stopped by for a cuppa, but she was soon kidnapped by her sister and her BIL since they are only in town until Sunday. Hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy her undivided attention again next week.

The plan was to delight you all with the projects that Veronica and KB are working on since all my project are at the point of same ol’ same ol’, but I forgot my camera! I also forgot one of my knitting needles. Luckily I remembered it before I got to the highway and I was able to turn around and come home to retrieve it in time. Without it I wouldn’t have been able to dazzle the gals with my backward knittin’ skillz. Oof!

Today is the last day of NaBloPoMo and I am weary and triumphant. I have managed to post every single day of this month. Yay me! It’s been a challenge and it’s been a chore. So I plan to take a few days off to recover though I have contemplated on doing a challenge with Wendy M., reigning Queen of Yarn Porn, to see which one of us can post every day for the longest. I have a feeling she’d win though because she just rocks the house with her knowledge and her creativity. While I just feel really drained at this point and in need of a refueling.

Tomorrow I visit the dentist (yet again!) for what could possibly be another cavity. I guess I just can’t get enough of the man. Maybe I have some kind of Freudian love complex for the guy. *blech* What am I saying? No. No. No!

Today was cold and rainy for Hawaii, so I spent much of the day knitting on the Centerpiece Treasure Afghan. I had to put it away for awhile because it was much too hot to work on, but today’s cooler temperature were perfect for having a big lap of wool on my lap. As you can see it’s quite a chunk of woolly love, though not quite photogenic at this point. I only have about 3 more color changes before I can bind this baby off and I’m in a fever to finish it off.

Cooler weather also induced other symptoms of woolly fever, I’ve fallen in love with another sweater. It’s Ariann from ChicKnits. I’m not sure how long I’ll be obsessed with the thought of knitting it or whether or not I’ll actually knit it. For now I’m enjoying the possibilities that this sweater could hold for me without purchasing the pattern or the yarn for it quite yet. Though if this weather keeps up I will definitely be purchasing some yarn for a sweater quite soon.

Finally, my cold finally seems to have been chased away. For some reason these strange germs don’t like the cold weather. Maybe it’s all this woolly fever I have or maybe it’s my nifty Gentleman’s Socks that have done the trick. Now I’m inspired to knit more socks. I need to try and discipline myself and finish my gift knitting first though. That’s what my mouth keeps saying at least. My eyes keep wandering over to the bin where I keep my sock yarns. Oof!

For someone with a cold, I managed to get a lot done today. I got about 15″ done of Lexi’s scarf in total, though I’m not sure how much I knit just today. I also knit my goal of 3 repeats on the edging of the Shaped Triangle Shawl. So this cold isn’t holding me back by much, even though it sure feels like it is.

I felt much better after I got a good night’s rest, but right now the cold is back and kicking my head in. I suppose it would have been better if I had stayed home and rested, instead I ran around town and got some important things done. Among those things were a couple of doctors’ appointments that would have been excruciatingly hard to reschedule.

I also got my hair cut, which is a really big deal for me because I hate hate hate getting my hair cut. I hate sitting in the chair and feeling like I need to make conversation with the stylist as she/he cuts my hair. My long time stylist of 5 years or so cut and run to Colorado to study up on becoming a radiologist, so I’ve been drifting back and forth between other stylists trying to find one that I like. So far I can’t say I’ve found one that I like, but I can’t say I’ve found one that I don’t like.

I did have a fun conversation with a man in the waiting area who commented on my knitting. He was a neat guy from the Boston area and a burly contractor. He mentioned that he always wanted to learn how to knit and I really wanted to offer to teach him, but I didn’t want to appear like I was hitting on him either. Now I wonder if I’ve missed a golden opportunity of converting another person to the Church of Knit, but I was really too shy to offer to teach him.

Not much knitting was done today as I have been feeling under the weather with some type of cold. So I spent most of my time in bed reading The Wayfarer’s Redemption. Nothing like a good fantasy book to take me out of this world and into another.

I’ve also been re-reading Knitting Rules! and enjoying every bit of it. Talk about a book that’s worth the money. It’s inspiring, funny, and it has a few things in there that’s always great for knitter’s to remember, like gauge lessons.

While I have been lazing around, Wendy M. has been busy making a goldfish bag and Theresa W. has finished writing up a new sock pattern! Check them out!

Today was a lazy Sunday in which I finally took out one of the shawls I have languishing on the needles. This is the Shaped Triangle shawl that I started in August of this year. I took a break from it back in October, but I finally have my mojo working again thanks to Ali over at Alianne Knits. She recently finished the Hexagon Spider’s Web Shawl from the new Victorian Lace Today and that’s inspired me to finish my own shawl.

I’ll probably not be able to finish it in the dashing fashion Ali finished her gorgeous shawl, but I hope to get at least 3 repeats of the edging done a day, which amounts to 30 rows. I’m trying not to set a goal that is too unobtainable as I’d also like to get some gifts done as well.

Among those gifts are the entrelac scarf and I’d like to start the Shifting Sands scarf by Grumperina for my Great-Aunt Eleanor. I have some Andean Silk in Hyacinth that will make a beautiful scarf and I’m looking forward to learning how to cable without a cable needle.
Before I forget yet again, on Thursday there was a small earthquake off the shores of the Big Island, but I felt it all the way over here on O’ahu. There were no serious damages or power outages reported. It was rather startling, but not nearly as nerve-wracking as the quake in October. It obviously wasn’t that big since I didn’t even remember to post about it until now.
