In other news, my sinus infection is mucho bettah. Onyx eat on and off, some days she does and some days she doesn’t. She is losing a lot of weight and I worry on a daily basis. Thank the heavens for knitting to help me deal with all that icky stress.

And I am truly amazed that I got through Clue 1 without a hitch, since I really was working on very little sleep the whole time. Basically, I’ve been battling this insomnia for the past 3 months. Eek.

In other news, my friend Shelly from Rose Garden Fibers, Wendy from Quantum Spindles, and I are getting together to start a Mystery book club combined with a knitalong. The only thing we need to do is come up with a name.

The Knitting World Cup started yesterday and I casted on the Pomatomus socks. Using some sock yarn that I lost the label for. I’m pretty sure it’s Regia 6, either way I love working with it so much. I’m already on my 2nd repeat! The charts really intimiatedated me at first, but if you’ve ever done a knitting pattern where suddenly the whole picture of what your doing clicks into place like a complete puzzle, then you’ll know what I mean when I say that the pieces all came together. After that the chart hasn’t really been needed.

I’m putting it down though, because I must finish the Moon Dance for Knit The Classics. The deadline is tomorrow. Can I do it?? We shall see.

Today it’s all about the rectangle. I’m making
Moon Dance from Pink Lemon Twist. It’s a pretty quick moving pattern and perfect for tv knitting. I know I might be sounding a bit like a broken record about this stole, but I like it! It’s not going to be for me though, it’ll be a present for my mother.

I have another stole already lined up too! The Mystery Stole 2 is starting in July and I’m busily trying to figure out what yarn to use. Do I use something in my stash or do I treat myself to new yarn? What colour do I want to do it in? All this is what I shall be contemplating in the next month. I only have 2 more repeats to go then I do the top and bottom edgings. Whee!

Before I start on the Myster Stole, I must finish the Moon Dance and the Eternal Fichu from Heart Strings. The Frost Flowers and Leaves Shawl is languishing while I try to get over a sinus infection. Knitting complicated lace with a stuffed head is not in my forecast. *plbt*

I leave you with a list rectangular shawls from Love To Bike and Knit. Such lovely rectangular goodness!

I finished the Flower Basket Shawl on Monday and finished blocking it yesterday. Below is a picture of it unblocked. I love doing before and after shots of lace. It makes the tedium of blocking so much easier.

And for the finished look….

  • Started: May 28, 2006 / Finished: June 5, 2006
  • Pattern – Flower Basket Shawl
  • Needle size- 5US / 3.75 Clover Bamboo Needles
  • Yarn – mystery yarn that I think had some wool and some nylon in it
