In an effort to save money, I just spent money. I bought 4 cones of Zephyr from Sarah on eBay. They were $32.50 a cone so I got them at a considerable savings. They normally go for $50-$60 a cone. Each cone is about 1lb and there are about 5,000 yards. Now I don’t know if many people would actually knit that many shawls in one colour, but I think I will as I’ve been doing so many shawls this year. I got Pewter, Bottle Green, Admiral, and Deep Purple. Since I plan on knitting shawls for friends and family this year as gifts, I thought this was the best way to go too.
I just wanted to pass on the good price to everyone else as Sarah is simply wonderful to deal with. My order got complicated as I got confused as to what I wanted to do on eBay. She was endlessly patient with me and endlessly kind. If you only want to get one cone, like in a white and dye your own, her single cones prices are still really great at $36.
