Augh.

The Black Shrug

There is no way I’m going to finish this by tomorrow. For one thing I can only work on it for a few minutes at a time because my hands start hurting. So there’s no way I’m going to do another 10″ on this sucker.

Onyx Update

Onyx ate some today. So maybe yesterday she had some kind of bug or maybe it was the heat. Either way I’m going to keep a close eye on her. Thanks for all the well wishes. :)

In other news, I had to rip out the FFL again. I made an error that I couldn’t ladder down to fix and it was in every single repeat for several rows. I sure am learning the hard way with this shawl!

Onyx has stopped eating again. She’s drinking water, but she only had a about a tablespoon of food yesterday morning.

I spent a good portion of last night tryiing to find a food that she found appetizing. She finally got fed up with all the food shoved in her nose, so she went to her hidey hole.

She seems to be losing the weight she gained in the past week. I’m hoping she’s just adjusting to the change in temperature as it’s gotten hot here the past couple of days.

We’re going to see if the vet can take her in today just in case. I’m just afaid that she won’t be coming home with us.

I started the Black Shrug on last Wednesday night,May 24th, and I would like to finish it by Wednesday, May 31st. So I have 4 days to go. I’ve been knitting like a fiend on it and I’ve got almost 10 inches done with only 7 more inches till I can finish the sleeves and 12 more inches all in all to finish.

I’m using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Cavern for it. So far the black has stained my needles and my hands, so I’m going to do a vinegar wash when I’m done. I was wondering if I should do an alum wash, but I’ll try the vinegar first.

The cotton is also a litle hard on my hands, so I have to keep buoying my spirits up with little cheers. “Work through the pain. You can do this!” is just one example.

At the finish line is a Vosges Fire bar waiting just for me.
