the Akamai Knitter

The beginnings of the Shetland Lace Shawl.  It doesn’t look like much but I’m proud that I’ve gotten this far. This is the first repeat of the edging. The yarn is Cloud from Knit Picks in the color Redwood Forest. The pattern is Shetland Lace from A Gathering Of Lace. This is the first knitted lace in the sense that every row is patterned versus a lace knitted fabric that has a plain row of knitting after every patterned row. I’m knitting this shawl with a knit-along on the Knitted Lace Mailing List. This is the first knit-along that I’ve been a part of where I’m actually doing the project! What a milestone. Let’s hope I can finish it too!
