The Akaka Bill was rejected today. The news said that it was rejected on the grounds that it would subdivide the country. I’m really dissapointed. Why give one native peoples rights and not another?

Claudia is accepting donations for the MS Bik Tour. She seems to have exceeded her target amount, but it would be really great if we could see her get $1k over that amount.
I have a close family friend with MS and I hate to see her suffer. The only way we can really help is to hope that medical science will be able to come up with better medications and eventually a cure.
I know what it’s like to live with a chronic debilitating disease. I have fibromyalgia and it has really affected the way I live my life. I don’t let it define who I am, but I can’t deny that it holds a huge influence in what I do.

As for knitting, I found Knit The Classics and this month they’ll be doing Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I’d love to do the Paisley Lace Shawl for that book but I’m not sure I can get the pattern in time. I’d want to do it within the month of May. We’ll see!
