I decided to pick up a long lost hobby.
You know. Since I had nothing else to do.
So I made this.

I am supremely unhappy with the face, but there was only so much I could do with such a small surface to work on. Otherwise I’m okay with it.
Why did I pick up cross-stitch again?
It all started with a marathon session of True Blood over at my friend Blogless Sandy’s house a few weeks ago. It was a 90F day and the humidity was typical for Hawaii, which means it felt like it was through the roof. To add to this Sandy doesn’t have air conditioning. Blech.
To continue on, Sandy and Blogless Maria were needlepointing while we watched and I had the now huge Clapotis on my lap.
Guess who was happy and who wasn’t? Yeah.
Plus, they were working on some really beautiful pieces. I’ve never gotten into needlepoint but I’ve cross-stitched on and off for most of my life and my mother cross-stitches on and off as well. This is why my house is littered with cross-stitch supplies.
And this is how I came to pick it up again at 1am on a Saturday morning.
o.O
It’s not over yet either. I’m already working on another piece.

Whereas the Buttercup Fairy took me about two weeks to finish, this next one should be a quickie.I started this on Monday and this was my progress as of yesterday morning. (Yeah. I was too lazy to take another picture this morning, but I’m halfway done with the mantle.)

I just love this cat! Maybe a little too much. I think someone is getting jealous.

I just can’t seem to win with the boys this week.
o.O
Happy Wednesday, folks!
