I went to bed at around 3am last night after succumbing to a craving for noodles that hit me around midnight. I tried to resist but I gave in at around 1:30am. (Thanks again, Jen!)
My noodles of choice?
It’s a little pricier then Top Ramen, but I think it’s well worth the price. It’s got such spicy goodness! My lips always burn a little when I’m finished eating. That’s sure a sign of a good meal. ;-)
I don’t have a good segue from noodles into handspun. So I’m just going to throw pictures at you.

For the rest of the day I plan on plying my ass off. However, this might make the task difficult after awhile so I’ll settle for seriously crippling my knees.
I may or may not be joking.
Also, I have cast on the FLS in a different size. Now it may be too small instead of too big. I feel like Goldilocks and it’s making me cranky.
Not to mention that several people have reported the yarn pills like a mofo. I considered going with a different yarn, but I think I’ll just find a sweater shaver instead. Only they’re rather hard to find on a tropical island.
I can’t imagine why….
If I can’t find one myself, I’ll have to ask a SuperKnitter to rescue me.
All in all, I think you’ll agree that Friday can’t come soon enough. Especially since I have to see what happens to Admiral Adama!

All of the yarn is pretty, but Smoke on the H2O is gorgeous.
February 4th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Plied your ass off, did you? Is this a new weight-reducing method?
Sorry, I can’t choose a favorite, but they are all begging for a knitter to adopt them.
February 4th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
The yarn is gorgeous. I used to get this wonderful Vietnamese noodle pack thing from a coworker. If my eyes weren’t watering… it wasn’t good. ;D Hey! Take care of those knees.
February 4th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
You had the spicy noodles, I had the strange dreams. How connected are we?
Love the yarns. One day when I have money, I’m definitely buying some.
February 4th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Love the yarns!
I hope the knees feel better soon. How seafoody are the noodles? I think I’m going to be eating my way out of this week. o.0
Did you swatch? Did you wash the swatch? Did it grow? Did it fuzz up?! 0.o
xo

I didn’t know Mountain Colors did roving. Their factory is about 5 miles from my FIL’s house – it’s an annual pilgrimage site for me. :-)
February 4th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
do you like the instant noodles? i have so many memories based around that dish! i’m a ramen girl myself…my grandpa used to crack an egg (egg drop style) into the soup along with leftover chicken and veggies. yum. we used to make it in the dorm in our heating pots, too. 3am snack break! ahhh…
beautiful yarn, btw. i’m lovin the first pic!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:32 pm
*sigh* You’ve got the most beautiful stuff in your shop!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Ohhh yum yum yum! You’re cranking out the goods!
February 4th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
Yum! Love asian noodles. Pretty handspun!
February 4th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
You’ve been busy! So many pretties. Friday can’t come soon enough!
February 5th, 2009 at 2:12 am
Such pretty yarns! And all of that plying. Plying always seems to be one of those things that I have to do all at once, never taking a break from it.
February 5th, 2009 at 2:54 am
Mmmmm, gorgeous stuff!!
I’m still bewildered by the “how much yarn you end up with” part of spinning, but I was surprised to see the lower yardage on the CMF. Is it denser than the others?
February 5th, 2009 at 3:05 am
Beautiful stuff (as usual)!
I practically lived off Top Ramen (and mac and cheese) in college. I’ll have to be on the lookout for this brand; I haven’t had noodles in ages!
February 5th, 2009 at 3:27 am
I confess that ramen noodles are a serious staple in out house. Since you recommend this brand, I will keep an eye out for it – it sounds really good :)
Your yarn is beyond gorgeous, kiddo. You’re really having fun with this, aren’t you? Please, please, please don’t cripple yourself! But if you do succeed in plying your ass aff, and are willing to share the technique, I may just take up spinning after all :)

Noodles! Yummy! I always go to Chinese supermarkets for noodles … there are literal (okay, maybe not) thousands of choices!
No sweater shaver in Hawaii? If you really need one, I can get one and send it to you. Just let me know.
February 5th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
Your handspun is just gorgeous. You have been very busy, indeed. I’ll be happy to send you a sweater shaver. Just say the word, and I’ll deliver in person!
February 5th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
WOW!!! All that wonderfully plied goodness, what a feast for my eyes. You have spun some gorgeous yarns. Will you be knitting any of them up?
Knit Picks sells the sweater stone. My mother’s Annemor #11 gloves (in Palette) pilled like no tomorrow and the sweater stone cleaned them right up.

Noodles to handspun seems like a natural transition to me. Then again, I am weird.
Speaking of the handspun, it is so gorgeous.
Careful with the knees, sweetie.
*hugs*

OMG…COLOR! Stunning.
((hugs))
February 6th, 2009 at 11:04 am
That is some of the most appealingly-colored yarn I’ve seen in a long time. Just beautiful.
Those noodles look good–never seen them in the store here. Though I wonder if the asian market might have them? Hmmm….
February 6th, 2009 at 11:29 am
It’s Friday!
That Smoke on the H2) is seriously gorgeous.
“…feel like Goldilocks” LOL!!
As for Admiral Adama – I know!!! They wouldn’t kill him off, would they? What am I saying? Of course they would.
February 6th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Must have Layla.
MMMM Purple.
Take care of your knees honey.
February 8th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
holy crap, that is a lot of gorgeousness!!!
February 9th, 2009 at 12:52 am
I say: knit with what you enjoy, even if it means they won’t last as long as something with thicker yarn. Eventually the thicker stuff will wear out, anyhow.
February 11th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
My son practically lives on Top Ramen noodles. I’ve never seen your type of noodles in the store…you must have to get the in a specialty store I assume?
February 12th, 2009 at 3:49 am
Your handspun is beautiful!
