Much of my time this weekend was devoted to stealth knitting, but I did manage to finish a project that I can share. It’s Chubby the Fish!
Pattern: Chubby Fish (Ravelry link) by MyGurumi
Yarn: Red Heart Classic
Hook: E / 3.5mm
Started: November 11, 2008
Finished: December 21, 2008
This would have been a quick project if I hadn’t lost steam once I finished the body. But i did and it ended up taking over a month to finish.
I really love MyGurumi‘s patterns. Her signature eyes are really cute and very child friendly. The patterns themselves are well written and easy to follow. I plan on making more of her fun creations.
I’d really like to make a companion seahorse in the same turquoise color, but I have obligatory knitting to do. Do you find that when you absolutely have to get a project done, you absolutely don’t feel like working on it? My inner rebel springs to the forefront when I have deadlines. So far I’ve been successful in beating it down, but it’s been quite a struggle!
Finally, I thought I’d share my second mini tree. My mom rescued this from her office before it hit the trash. The reason it looks so disreputable is that the boys (cats) think it’s their new toy. You don’t even want to know how my other tiny tree has been faring.
Happy Holidays, everyone! Please drive safely!

So cute!

My Inner Rebel appears when all I’ve done is lay out my clothes for the next day, much less deadlines.
Chubby the Fish is so cute! He totally needs a Seahorse sidekick. Deadlines, schmeadlines.

Oh my goodness! Want to hear something funny? Just as I was reading about your little fishy, Cody was in the other room playing the theme from Jaws on his tuba!
Love the coincidence.

Love your little fat amigurumi! Thanks for pointing me the direction of Ravelry. I keep forgetting to go there even though I belong to it! BTW, I’m always beating my Inner Rebel down! It’s a losing battle most of the time. Oh, and don’t you put your tree up especially for your little furry family? I know I do! They have come to expect it of me! They also love to watch me put all the decorations back on the tree each morning!

Chubby is adorable! He definitely needs a seahorse companion. :)

Cute Chubby.
The minute I “have” to finish something it’s the time I don’t even want to LOOK at it.
Sad situation really.

I love both the seahorse and the hermit crab! Amigurumi will be my next project. I’ve picked up fiberfill, safety eyes and a small collection of patterns, all thanks to you!
BTW, your mini-tree is adorable – despite the attention of overly eager boy kitties.

Cutest. Fish. Ever! I’ve already downloaded the pattern – now I just have to get some stuffing. I don’t go through the stuff very fast, but wouldn’t you know I just used up the last of a bag a while ago!
I can just imagine what your boys made of your little tree :) And I found one of my own today! Thanks for the inspiration!
Happy holidays my friend! {hugs}

Your fish is too cute! I wonder what your boys would do with it, especially with a little catnip involved, it might make a cute cat toy.

Very cute! I still have my knitted seahorse to do…

That is such a cute fish! I also love the seahorse. I have several amigurumi critters I want to make. I know what you mean about the deadline knitting. Sometimes it really sucks the desire and enjoyment out of a project.

I’m slowly catching up on my blog reading so forgive the lateness of the comment but your jewellery is amazing! The rings, the bracelets…they are all stunning. You have a great eye.
