So I started knitting this shrug from Berroco. I’m using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Cavern and my needles are turning black!
Apparently cotton doesn’t hold dye too well so it can shed it’s color on anything close by. Like my hands! At least it washes off.
What I’ll do when I’m finished with this is give it anice vinegar soak. Or should I try to get some alum? Advice would be greatly appreciated.
My Ruby Zephyr is also shedding it’s color on my Bryspun needles. Unfortuantley that doesn’t wash off.

As a lover of black clothing my advice is too soak it in your vinger bath and then wash it (letting it soak well) in some woolite for black clothes.
and always wash it with only black clothes when needed.
