What was I thinking?

In one of my last posts, I showed you all a picture of Summer Meadows.

I didn’t notice until later how off the color was. So I’m reposting pictures of the same yarn to give you all a more accurate rendering of how it looks.

What was I thinking? The first picture is nowhere near what the yarn looks like. I blame it on sleep deprivation. Yeah. That’s my story. I’m sticking to it.

Moving on.

I finished plying Thermograph.

Thermograph by Spunky Eclectic

Thermograph by Spunky Eclectic

It’s another 3ply fingering weight yarn. I received it through the Spunky Eclectic Fiber Club, meaning I did not pick this out myself.

So. Not. Me.

Luckily, I have a pretty good idea as to who will give it a good home. So it’s all good.

I’m still beading my little heart out. (Ha!) And because I’m so inarticulate today, here’s a sampling of what I’ve been doing.

There are more here and they’ll most likely end up in my Etsy shop sometime this weekend. Speaking of weekends, maybe I’ll recover from this incoherent lapse by Monday.  Once again, I blame the sleep deprivation. :)

Happy Friday everyone! Thanks for reading!

I always blame sleep derpriviation. It’s always at fault.

A pun! A pun! Those hearts are so darling.

Wow, huge difference in color in that yarn. The name Summer Meadow makes much more sense now too.

  2. Tiny Tyrant Says:

The thermograph is gorgeous as are the heart earrings.

  3. Kelley Says:

That’s funny about the yarn: they’re both beautiful, but I like the real color better!

    Your jewelry is gorgeous!

  12. Robbyn Says:

Well, the Thermograph yarn pleases my eye no end! Bright and cheerful and full of beans :) Certainly you wouldn’t want every yarn to be like that, but even yarn have to have a cheering section!

The heart earrings are wonderful - very cute and, umm, dangly? Okay, you can shoot me - I blame it on being early still and not having had a full cup of coffee yet. I still think they’re really cute!

  13. Aim Says:

That is a huge difference. Though I have to admit I was immediately awed by the colors in the first pic when your page loaded–that would make a completely amazing yarn!

Lovely stuff, you productive being you!

  14. hakucho Says:

Wow, that is a BIG color difference. I love both the versions :) Your new jewelry is awesome…love the hearts and beads together :)

  15. Cookie Says:

Yes, it does make more sense as a green yarn. I don’t think “meadow” when I see blue. Go figure. I love the one you don’t, but you knew that.

I also love those heart earrings! You are so good at that stuff.

    xo

  16. textillian Says:

Quite a difference between those pictures, though I must admit that I like both color combinations. The Spunky Eclectic is very pretty as well.

The jewelry is stylish. So very nice!

Beautiful spinning - that is so wild that the colors are so different. Nice hearts! Don’t you find bending metal and hammering quite a release?

  18. Roseann Says:

Beautiful yarns and earrings! I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend with spinning and jewelry involved. I love seeing how you turned a class you recently took into many pretty earrings.

Wow. A big difference in the colors. I love both of them, even though one doesn’t exist! HA.

You are really good at the beading. The heart earrings are great. You make me want to bring out my beading stuff… although I always end up with crap! LOL.

  20. Hetty Says:

Both yarns are super! The Thermograph is beautiful too! And the heart earrings are fantastic! Love your work!!!

  21. Abby Says:

Woah, those are the same yarn?! lol Isn’t it interesting what digital camera/lighting/combination of both can do to the color something?

  22. Jane Says:

Taking pictures of hand spun yarns really is difficult but I think it looks great in the “revised”picture! Those hearts really are quite pretty.

  23. JessaLu Says:

I like the 2nd picture of Summer Meadows better than the first - and now that I see what Thermograph looks like spun up I might spin mine (and sell it…) ;o)
