I haven’t been up to much this past week. I’ve mostly been working on the sock from hell and various other small projects. One of them is a little alien cat toy (Ravelry details). It’s a little dorky but the cats seem happy with it.
Since that’s all I got, I thought I’d show off some stuff I just got.
Even though I don’t sew, I recently acquired some fabric simply because I couldn’t resist. Luckily, my friend Acornbud does sew and she just opened up her own Etsy shop. So I begged her to make me one of her cute project bags and a crochet hook roll. She acquiesced and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
The project bag is just the right size for a ball of sock yarn and my sock project. What I love most about it is the little charm she put on it.
And the crochet hook roll? It’s perfect.
As for what I’ve been doing with the hooks? Well, I’ll save that for another day. In the meantime, here’s a peek. (If you plurk, you probably already know what they are.)
Happy Saturday everyone! Enjoy your weekend!

Cute dorky alien! If my cat weren’t too lazy to play, I’d make her one, too.

I love your cat toy — I might have to make one for my dogs.

The charm absolutely MAKES the bag. Very cute!

Hey Opal. Glad you liked the bag. That fabric is supercute! Your cat toy is so cute. Wonder if it’s strong enough for the sock eating cat in Iowa. In spite of the awful experience with the yarn, your sock is beautiful. Hope it washes softer.

How fun!! I think the alien is definitely dorky but cute.
I love the fabric–pink with skulls, how could you pass it up?

That is the cutest bag and hook-roll! What a really great set for your tools and project!
~snicker~”poop?” Who said that…? Looks like the makings for some amigurumi to me ;-D

The project bag is so cute! Love the cat toy….

Hmmm…I’m afraid the brown crochet “stuff” roused a fecal resonance for me too – and I thought, “Why would she crochet a litter box and how in the world is she going to crochet the litter? But didn’t the poops come out nice…”
The fabric for your bag and roll is very cute but the charm makes it perfect indeed! What a thoughtful and clever addition.
Now the cat toy – Jade would love it. She the dirst cat I’ve ever had who takes her toys seriously. Did you stuff catnip inside it?

So cute!
Well… not the crocheted poop, but I’m sure they will grow up to be cute.

Oh…the suspense…wonder what those appendages will eventually belong to? Definitely cute and more cute here in Opal’s land…love your new awesome project bag!

I can’t wait to see what those hooks have been making!
September 29th, 2008 at 1:25 am
/Oh, she has gone back to being a hooker!/
Kidding! Just kidding! And who gets the appendages?

Love all the “little bits”! I still want to try a little crochet myself but have not had the time. I LOVE the skull! Wish I had them as stitch markers :-)

I’m sure the crochet poop is going to be something cute. RIght?
