A fine welcome home.

Posted under stash

It’s been a special mail week for me. I received a surprise goody box from my very special friend, Karen of Yarn Is My Metier. I was so excited when I received it I emailed the wrong Karen to say thank you!

As you can see, I had reason to be so overcome with excitement.

Starting from the top, I received: Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud in Morning Mist; Dream In Color in Happy Forest; The Knittery’s Merino Cashmere Sock in Geranium; Sunshine Yarn’s Merino Silk in Sunflower; and a stapleless stapler!

The stapleless stapler has to be the cutest thing ever.

And Merino Cashmere? Cashmere! For the feet! Oh the decadence. Oh the luxury! Plus, the color is just what tickles my groove thang at the moment.

I’m not sure what the occasion is for this generous gift, but thank you Karen! You made coming home especially sweet.

Another thing I wanted to share is a prize I won over at Rosa’s blog, Purly Qs. Some gorgeous silk roving in a delicious array of purples and blues. I want to eat it.

I’m rolling in fibery goodness and I don’t think I’ll need to acquire any more yarn or fiber in the foreseeable future. So I’m going to restrain from buying. I’m not saying it’s a diet. That just makes me obsess over what I can’t have. I’m just going to exercise restraint and concentrate on what I have.

Wish me luck, mmkay?

Lol, I have to say diet, or I’ll allow one thing, and then another…

I’ve noticed though that now I can’t buy yarn or fiber, I’m buying pattern books, needle holders, audiobooks, downloadable patterns…everything else!

Aren’t you glad you came home now? ;^)

Sigh. I need to find friends like that!

I’m not even a spinner and that roving looks good to me! Enjoy the goodies, Opal.

Lucky you! What fab stuff. And I’ve wanted a stapless stapler ever since I saw one on JBox. Have fun! : )

I do believe there is PINK in that roving… ;)

Ok - I know this is going to get me kicked out of knitting-dom — but mostly I’m fascinated by the staple-less stapler. Cute and perplexing!

Very nice yarn - but what is a stapleless stapler? The roving is gorgeous!

I am glad that you like it. It is a very soft and silky fiber. I can’t wait to see it spun up. Congrats on such lovely acquisitions.

What goodness! What largesse! I adore Karen, too, she’s done the same for me - what a sweetie!

Now…on the “d” word? Well, let’s just say, I’ve promised myself ONE more indulgence - next weekend at my favorite LYS…a SALE weekend. Hmmm…can we say I’m not going to restrain myself? It’s close enough to my birthday to say it’s a gift to me!

But then? Well, then….the “d” word isn’t going to be used…but knitting from stash is my new mantra!

I’m just glad you have had a wonderful trip to the mainland, and then homecoming back to your tropical paradise!
    ((((hugs))))

Wow! Nice gift! Such a treat. My stapleless stapler is nowhere near as cute. Lucky!

Such pretty yarn! Have fun exercising restraint. At least you’ve got a very nice stock pile to work off of.

Oh boy lots of goodness to welcome you home :)

A stapleless stapler…that is really new to me! That really sounds like a great idea…must check them out!

Nice yarns. But what is a stapleless stapler? Good luck practicing restaint! But don’t deprive yourself! Give in if you have to. I’ll understand!

Oooo you got some lovely yarn there! Lucky you!

Oh my - what a wonderful haul! The color of that merino/cashmere is quite wonderful - it would tickle my groove thing too - but I’m not sure I have one.

That roving is spectacular and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Well, of course you will spin it, but I look forward to seeing how it evolves. I love the colors!

Oh! It’s all like a dream come true! Christmas in June! I especially like the silk.

Your stash enhancement is mighty indeed! I love the little stapler. I’m afraid I have way too much fiber as well but there is Lambtown in Dixon in July so we will see how well I do. You are not alone in your fiber addiction :-)
