So sparkly.

Despite the fact the damned Giants won, I had a good weekend. I figured out what I was doing wrong with my camera. Basically I just need to zoom in and out until the little macro flower turns green. I just wish the manual had mentioned this. Now I just need to play with lighting.

There wasn’t as much knitting done this weekend as there normally is. I did work on the Pagoda Lace Twist Socks while I ran some errands yesterday and I’m inching my way towards the toe of the first sock.

I also worked on the second sleeve of Something Tweedy. There’s just something so soothing about stockinette stitch. I’m anxious to finish this one up so I can wear it before the “winter season” is over. (I put winter in quotes since I know full well that our winter got nothing on most of yours.)

One of the errands I had to run was getting to the bead shop for some wire. With that done, I was able to get to work and produce four pairs of earrings.

First there was some silver.

Then there was some gold.

I love how the earring chandelier does all the work. So dangly!

Now that I’ve gotten a heady dose of beading pleasure in, I plan on finishing up those silly gloves this week. I’m pretty confident I can get this done since I won’t have as many distractions like I had over the weekend. I’m determined to get this albatross off my back.

What I’m really yearning to do is some lace. There’s so much out there inspiring me right now. Have you seen Alice’s Princess Shawl and Fleegle’s International Shawl? Just beautiful.

The project I have in mind for me is Pretty As A Peacock. I’m already a member of the KAL and I have the yarn, so there’s nothing stopping me from casting on except sheer willpower.

Let’s see how long that lasts, shall we?

How pretty, Opal! I forget about your jewelry-making.

By the way, I’ve just given you an award. Come see for yourself at my blog.

What yarn are you going to use for Pretty As A Peacock, Opal? I have the pattern and am a member, but I am so conflicted about the yarn. Some are using lace, some fingering, some sport. The earrings are so lovely. I, too, was upset about the Packers’ loss. Can you imagine how Brett must feel?

Come on, that was a great game! I was thinking about you, though, when the Giants won (yea!). Now will you still talk to me? :-) Very pretty earrings!

Well, I have to say, the Giants winning will make our superbowl party a happy one around these parts of NJ. The earrings are just beautiful - I especially love, and may have to stalk your etsy site for that first silver pair - omg - they are so me. Get goin, girl - I am waiting for that shop to open!

Sucks that the Giants won. The earrings are beautiful, though. And I”m glad you figured out your camera.

BTW, I found that commercial I was talking about and posted it.

Your earrings are soo pretty! I think you had some beads on a shawl, do you do much bead knitting? I have been thinking about lace, too, and enjoyed looking at your pattern choices.

Love the sparklies (and the wee peek of knails!)

I didn’t know you made jewelry, Opal. But I should have guessed from your name :) Love the earrings–wish I had the energy to do that, but I am just too clumsy to deal with little, tiny beads. My frog crown is off to you!

I love the peridot dangles - very nice!

Oh, those shawls! You are a bad influence on me as I cannot seem to handle lace weight yarn no matter how hard I try. I note, however, that “Pretty as a Peacock” suggests fingering or sport weight yarn.

What are you doing to me?!?!?!

    Heh… :)

Love the earrings. What fun it must be with all the endless possibilities. Also very rewarding in that you can sit down, design and finish a project all in one sitting. Very unlike the lace you are contemplating!!
