It seems the fog I was in on Monday was more due to a Fibromyalgia flare up then to any of the after-effects of the weekend. So instead of trying to put together a coherent post today, I’ve decided to just do a random list of my progress of some of my current projects.
- I completed the Bee Fields Shawl on Wednesday. It’s currently soaking in some warm water with a few drops of soap in preparation for the blocking progress. I’m so looking forward to crawling around on my hands and knees. Not. :-P

- I managed to turn the heel of the second sock and start the gussets of the Retro Rib Socks last night. Insomnia has its perks. I’m thinking of calling them Cafe au Chocolat. What do you think?

- I’ve gotten past the first repeat of the Rock Lobster Lock Bag. I really love the yarns I’m using. (Ella Rae Classic and Plymouth Boku.) The colors are fun and seeing them evolve with the slip stitch pattern is highly entertaining.

For some reason, I felt like I hadn’t gotten much done this week, which is most likely due to the flare up. Making this list has really helped me feel like I’ve accomplished something. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and take stock of what’s in front of us to appreciate it.
Weekend plans include another trip to Isle Knits tomorrow to see if I can get more yarn for the bag. There’s definitely more Ella Rae, but there might not be more Boku, so please wish me luck!
I also have a couple of DVDs lined up, Wire In The Blood: Season 3: Disc 1 and Perfect Stranger. Nothing too heavy or exciting, but I think they’ll both prove to be entertaining. Of course, there will also be football. Mmm. Football.
I’m also going to be casting on for the Clapotis and I’m really excited. It’s just the type of knitting that I need right now. Miles and miles of soothing stockinette stitch. Just thinking about it makes me curl my toes in anticipation.
Well, I’m off to block the shawl. I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with lovely knitty type activities. :-)

Feel better Opal! I love the socks and the colors on that bag are perfect together. Good luck with the yarn finding - and soothing stockinette works well for the fibro - it’s why I’m getting so much satisfaction from cobblestone.

1. Wow, that was fast.
2. Definately, cafe au chocolat.
3. Awesome.
I hope you don’t get a flare up this weekend. Have fun blocking!

Wow! So awesome that you finished it already! I really can’t wait to see it, I bet it’s gorgeous.
I feel like I’ve done nothing this week as well. Mostly because I haven’t lol. Ugh crappy week.
I love those socks and I think the name is fitting.

Oh dear, I hope you feel better soon - soon enough to block that lace anyway! I don’t know if it would work for you and/or this pattern, but I once blocked a shawl by running a string through all the edges, then stretching it between three nails on the wall… it would save you the crawling-around bit anyway.
The other projects I lovelovelove - the lobster bag in particular is so amazing looking! Love that yarn!
No more flare ups!

Well I’ll “bee” gobsmacked! Your industriousness puts me to shame :o)
By the way? Cafe and chocolate are *always* a great choice as are scrummy Rock Lobstahs. Very attractive pieces.
You know how I feel about the fog and discomfort of pain: I’m against it! Feel better, pet.
:::HUGS:::

I hope you are feeling better this weekend. I can’t wait to see your shawl, but I do not envy all the blocking work ahead. Your cafe au chocolat socks are perfect for fall. Your lobster bag is incredible! Enjoy your lys visit!

Well, um, the Bee Fields shawl looks, um, wet. That was the Japanese polite remark. The American remark: You know, your Bee Fields shawl looks like it fell in a tar pit. Or: Hmm. Looks like you have a lotta dead algae in that pan. Or: Honey, do you want me to throw this science project into the compost heap?
On the other hand, the lobster bag is stunning :)

Wow, what a list. You have been busy. Feel better and take comfort from your yarn.

So sorry to hear of your flare up. Hope it has gone away by now. I can’t believe how much knitting you accomplished in spite of your “fog.” Geez, I should be in such a fog. You continue to amaze me, Opal. Cannot wait to see the finished Bee Fields Shawl!!! I’m casting on for Clapotis this weekend, too, using Silk Garden. I seem to be recharging my blogging batteries. By Monday I should be back in the swing of things. All shall be revealed. Milo sends his regards.
Hugs, Hugs, Hugs to you and your kitties.

Hope you are feeling better soon!
I’ll be home knitting tomorrow. The university has a home game so I’ll be staying HOME …out of the crush of traffic!

I hope a good rest on the weekend will have you feeling better! As for being a productive knitter, I think you have been doing a lot of knitting. You just have a very high standard of expectation! Cut yourself some slack, buy yourself some yarn and rest! Blocking the shawl can be done in easy stages so don’t stress. I think the socks do look like coffee and chocolate so the name is great! Have a restful and healthful weekend.

I hope you start to feel better soon.

I hope you feel better soon, and have a non-flare up weekend! I can’t wait to see the shawl, and the socks are beautiful. Good luck finiding the yarn - I hope you find it so we can see the finished bag - so far its very cute! Feel better and enjoy the football!

Oh - what a tease!! I wanted to see the shawl all blocked!!
Oh well - I will wait- impatiently you know- I could always call — it would be a early wake up– but I will be good!
I love the colorways you are doing for the bag too.
Hope the Fibro stops being a pia.
Football Here We COME!!! (Good thing Clapotis is easy to work on - so you won’t miss the action on the field!)

Oooh, oooh! Can’t wait to see Bee Fields all blocked and stuff :) I hear you about the hands-and-knees thing though. Take it slow and easy :)
Cafe au chocolat sounds like a great name - warm and sweet - what could be better for a pair of socks?

Feel better, Opal! Having a shawl finished, stockinette to look forward to and some good DVDs is just the key to having a good weekend! I’m also looking forward to pictures of the finished shawl.

It’s so hard, with a flare, to think positively about anything. But wow, you’ve done a lot!
So revel in that…and have fun with the shopping and the movies, and the knitting. Have fun blocking, too, for heavens sake - take it slow…
(((hugs)))

Sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well. I just saw a magazine in Borders dedicated to Fibromyalgia.
Congrats on all your progress. Sometimes we all need to take a step back to get some perspective and realize all that we have actually accomplished.

Hi, there. I LOVE your fish. BTW: I, too, have fibro…It’s tough to live with. Every time I feel good, I over-do and then have “Monday Malaise” days, too. Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. Take care.

Wire in the Blood Season 1 is in my queue too. So many dvds, so little time.
