This weekend went by in a blink of an eye. On Saturday I went shopping at the Waikele Outlet Stores and bought myself a new handbag at Nine West. You know how some women are with shoes? That’s how I am with bags. That’s right, I’m a Bag Ho. The nifty silver buttons on this one is what finally sealed the deal.

I also bought a shirt at Bass, but really it’s just clothes. The highlight of the shopping trip was The Bag. It’s roomy enough to fit in my daily purse needs, like my wallet, and I can stuff a couple of knitting projects in there too.
After traipsing about in the exhausting heat of the day, we headed off for an early dinner at Stuart Anderson’s Cattle Company in Pearl City. This was a belated birthday celebration for my mother since they closed their Honolulu location and it takes about 45 minutes to get to this one. Her birthday was on August 24th, so this was quite a late celebration.
With all the driving around we did, I managed to squeeze in some knitting. (Yes! This is a knitting blog!) I took along my Retro Rib Socks. Even though I had finished the first sock during last week’s Aloha Knitters meeting, I managed to make some progress on the second sock.

As for the rest of the weekend I watched two football games (we won!), a fantastic movie, along with a not so fantastic movie. During all this I managed to start a new project. (Yes! A new project!) I’m almost finished with it and I should have some pictures to show you on or around Wednesday. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek.

Finally, I want to thank you all for the wonderful well wishes for Onyx. She’s been doing really well since I last wrote. On Saturday she actually went after a gecko. Luckily for the gecko it was on the other side of the window.
Here she is resting up after the frenzied activity with Quincy keeping an eye on her.

Sounds like a busy weekend! I am eager to see the new project! Give Onyx a hug! ( and Quincy too)

“My name is Karen and I’m a bag ho, too.” No shame in lovin’ a little arm candy!
So happy to see Onyx on the mend and Quincy keeping a watchful eye on her. That’s a good boy, Q!

You had quite the weekend and that’s certainly quite the bag! Now, as a knitter, I more often think about making my own bags. But don’t walk me by the shoe department!
What a pretty picture of Quincy and Onyx there. I’m delighted she felt frisky enough to go after a lizard. Jade and I have a “wish-Onyx-well” moment most days :)

Onyx must be doing OK then, if geckos still interest her. That is good to hear. I thought 300 was an excellent movie as well, but then, the eye candy in that movie didn’t hurt.

Sure sounds like you had a terrific weekend. How nice that you could get together with your mom and score a new bag and knit. I’m jealous about the bag. I, too, am a bag collector. I’m especially fond of Very Bradley bags. (http://verabradley.com). Quincy and Onyx look so cute together. Can’t wait to see what the mystery project is.

I STILL don’t have a bag that I like. I’ve bought a lot of losers. They seemed good in the store, but reality …not so good.
One of these days I’ll hit on the right bag.
I didn’t know you were a Cowboys fan… this could get sticky. Eagles fan here! We didn’t do so good this weekend. Our college team (Temple) didn’t do so well either, but then they NEVER do. We’re used to it. :::hanging my head:::

Ahhhh… I know what that Blue Yarn is for!!! I’m gonna have to get my butt in gear! ;P
I miss you Opal, but my weekend went TOO FAST too…. I have a headache today from it!
See you Thursday hopefully!

So many posts! You’ve been busy! Glad to hear Onyx is stable for the time being; looks like Quincy’s taking good care of her. And that bag…don’t know whether I could resist it either. An exquisite temptation for the bag ho! I guess it’s better to be a bag ho than a ho bag, no?

Very cute bag! I’m so glad Onyx is feeling better too!

OOOOO! The mystery project looks very “eyelashy.” If it does involve an eyelash yarn, do you go through and pick out all of the eyelashes so that it is even hairier?
I do love the colorway of your Pro Natura sock. I have one more ball of the stuff, but I am waiting to give it some time to figure out what it should be.
How you are with bags, I am with shirts. That subject will be coming up later….

A girl can never have too many bags! (or shoes!)
Give the furries a scritch for me!
Hugs!

Aw, cute kitties (I know I’m so repetitive but they are adorable, I can’t help it!)
Cute bag too! The retro rib socks were the first socks I ever tried to make (two and half years ago?) and mine came out really crummy! But I was a new knitter, so hey. Yours look much, much better.

Me too. My problem, however, is that I am not discriminating. If it is a bag, it must have it. I have some really ugly bags/totes/watchmacallits. Oh well, I always have something to hold my knitting.

Ooooooooooh…Veronica and I know what the mystery project is!!!!!
And Quincy…I never noticed his neat belly bands before. He looks like he’s all saddled up to be a horsey cat. Glad Onyx can still go after a gecko!
I have a lot of cool bags but tend only to use a couple of them, especially since I walk to work and don’t have a public transport commute to accomplish any knitting on. They are currently languishing in a cupboard. Ah, well. I like your new one, too!
Hey, I got an email from Yubina today saying my yarn had shipped and that it would take about 30 days. I can hardly wait! It can be my birthday present.
hugggggggggggsssssss

Quincy & Onyx are like two peas in a pod, that is a sweet picture of them. I love your Retro Rib socks, the yarn and the pattern make a wonderful textury sock. I can’t wait to see more of your latest project, it looks a little wild and very enchanting.

NICE bag!

This sounds like the perfect weekend indeed, though a bit exhausting ;) And I’m *so* with you on the handbag-thing - considering the fact that I hardly ever take one with me, I have a stunning amount of them here. I can’t help it, I’m just addicted to handbags, and all those awesome new designs that are out these days make me drool big time. And so does your new one, woah, it looks totally awesome! I’d have bought that one too in an instant - gorgeous!
What a very lovely pic of your two furry babes - they look so adorable together! Big hugs to them!

I’m totally a bag AND shoe ho. I don’t actually have that many but in recent months have spent more on them than I would usually. Like I used to buy my purses at Walmart lol and shoes wherever. Now well, I got a few designer bags off of QVC and shoes at Nordstroms.
BAD for the wallet!!!
Love the sock pattern.

I’m glad Onyx is feeling well enough to make a grab for a llizard! She is surrounded by good friends. I’m a “Project Bag Ho” myself. Not so much for the handbags but lots and lots of skanky bags for knitting I’m afraid.
