Hot for Knitting

I finished the Peacock Feathers shawl this past weekend. I really enjoyed making that. I had some problems with Edging Chart #2 as there are null sts involved and it took some thinking to figure it out exactly. I took a bit longer with it then usual figuring it out because I’ve been bothered with a pesky fever for the past couple of weeks.

I saw the doctor today but I don’t think he has any idea as to what’s going on. Which isn’t very reassuring….

I started two new things this week. The Diamond Fantasy Scarf/Shawl by Sivia Harding and the Bird’s Nest from Folk Shawls. There are mailing lists for both the Folk Shawls book and Sivia Harding’s Knitting Designs.

Right now the Triangles Within Triangles shawl is blocking on the floor. Did you ever notice the peculiar smell silk has when its wet? Pui!

I got Gathering of Lace in the mail last week and I’ve been drooling over the designs ever since. I’m going to be doing the Shetland Lace Shawl in a Knit Along on the Knitted Lace List. That is my favorite mailing list by far. I know I own Shawl Knitters but I’m always a little too alert on my own list.

The Shetland Lace Shawl will be the first Shetland and the first square project for me. It looks pretty challenging and I really look forward to it. I thought the Peacock Feathers shawl would be harder then it actually was too.

Pictures will be coming up by the weekend.

It’s good to see you online again! You’ve been knitting up some GORGEOUS shawls!! I’ve just started knitting lace and am quickly becoming addicted to it. I love looking through A Gathering of Lace, too- the designs are so beautiful. Talk about eye candy! Looking forward to seeing the blocked shawls… I have Peacock Feathers in the queue, so I’m really excited to see yours! Take care! :-)

wow, shawls! i don’t think i have the attention span or blocking room for one of those. well, i could if i tried hard enough, but most times, i prefer to browse what others have made.
i’m also intimidated by the ever popular butt shot when it comes to modeling shawls. when ever I do make a shawl, i will not hold it like a cape and show my butt to the world. hehe…
and thanks for the tip on the Not Just Socks book. i’ll definitely look into that :)
