Addicted To Socks

Posted under socks

Your lights are on, but you’re not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another sock is what it takes

You can’t sleep, you can’t eat
Theres no doubt, you’re in deep
Your throat is tight, you cant breathe
Another sock is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you’re immune to the stuff

Oh Yeah

Its closer to the truth to say you can’t get enough
You know you’re gonna have to face it
You’re addicted to socks

You see the signs, but you can’t read
You’re knittin’ at a different speed
You heart beats in double time
Another sock and you’ll be mine, a one track mind

You can’t be saved
Knitting is all you crave
If there’s some left for you
You don’t mind if you do

Whoa, you like to think that you’re immune to the stuff

Oh Yeah

Its closer to the truth to say you can’t get enough
You know you’re gonna have to face it
You’re addicted to socks

Might as well face it, you’re addicted to socks
Might as well face it, you’re addicted to socks
Might as well face it, you’re addicted to socks
Might as well face it, you’re addicted to socks
Might as well face it, you’re addicted to socks

(This was inspired by Neither Hip Nor Funky’s lumps. The song is Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer. Thanks to Lyrics Freak for the lyrics. The video to the song is here. Yay for the 80’s! Details on the sock soon to follow.)

What a hoot! Not familiar with the song, but the way you changed it for socks and knitting is just great. Ain’t it the truth!?!

LOL, I like it. I think all knitters’ homes are a mess when the needles rule.

OMG! You’ve lost it, but in a good way :o)

Easy to get hooked on socks, what with the wide variety of yarns and patterns plus a certain amount of instant gratification.

Very very cool! I know I am somewhat addicted to socks… I want to do so many different patterns- any ideas how to find the time.

I love it! But where’s the video of the women knitting and wearing different types of socks and licking their lips? Who could we get for the guy to sing it? Do you think we could get Weird Al? Hmmmm.

Ok, I am SO one of your back up girls, but I am wearing a hand knit dress and stockings!! I might not look so great in red lipstick, and I hope I can dance better than the originals. Um, I think I have seen that video too many times (blush).

Music and pictures, sock knitting is even more fun. I can hear this in my head when I buy more sock yarn. Sock looks great, too, I look forward to the details.

LOL! I know when I knit socks I wear red lipstick, a short skirt, and a zoned out look on my face as I sway back and forth. And by skirt I mean pajamas and by lipstick I mean I forget to comb my hair. I probably do look zoned out, though :-)

I know the feeling of addiction. Right now mine is shawl, but I guess within the summer has ended I’m on socks again. Lovely colours.
