And Another One…

First the down and dirty.

Pattern: Pomatomus by Cookie A

Started: May 9th 2007

Finished: June 5th 2007

Yarn: Socks That Rock in Lagoon

Needles: size 1US or 2.50mm 2 circs

You would think that I’d get tired of this pattern since this is my third pair, but I keep dreaming of more. There’s something about the rhythm of the pattern that soothes me yet keeps me stimulated enough that I don’t get bored. Of course the STR makes my fingers sing arias as it runs through my fingers, which pumps up the pleasure meter to even greater heights.

Is it so wrong to envision about 10 pairs of these in my sock drawer? Don’t worry though, my immediate plans don’t include another pair of these in the immediate future, but there will be more Cookie A. How could there not be?

Stay tuned to see what I’ve got cooking on my new 2.25mm needles! I also have pictures of the last day Jon and I spent together touring the windward side of the island, but I thought I’d save all that for another day.

Grrr. Stop it lady! You make me want to cast on with the STR Silkie in the same colorway. I’m slow as molasses in winter with my Mona socks, but it’s hard with such lovely temptations :o)

Pomatomas brings out those lagoon colors so nicely, I see why you want to knit more. I look forward to seeing what is on your 2.25mm needles and seeing the rest of your beautiful photographs.

    Dear Opal,

I think your socks are wonderful! I’m glad I’m not the only one who will knit a pattern more than once. I think a collection of these socks in many different colors would be terrific, not to mention functional. After all, the experience of knitting socks have all the virtues. A chance to test-drive many different beautiful yarns, quick satisfying knitting and a product that will be useful and lovely for many years to come. What more could you ask for?

Gorgeous! The lagoon works very well with the pattern. I really should replace the Pomatomus I wore out earlier this year… but like one of the above commentators, I have a hard time because there are so many good patterns out there! : )

It is a beautiful pattern, so I can see why you keep coming back! Really pretty colorway.

LOVE these socks! Wow, the Lagoon colorway works wonders as Pomatomuses! I don’t usually venture past the STR shaded solids, but this was SO the right colorway choice for Pomatomuses! Beautiful!

[...] After enjoying the cool winds of the Pali, we went on a driving tour of the Windward side of the island. Since I wasn’t in the driver’s seat, I gladly took the opportunity to break out the knitting needles. I managed to finish the Lagoon Pomatomus Socks and then I started a new pair of socks. [...]

Those look great! I thought of buying that pattern. I ended up getting the twisted flower one. I might have to get that one now! I especially love it in those colors. I have yet to try that yarn but it’s got such great reviews…one more thing to add to the never-ending list of yarn to buy. :D
