Last week, when I went to Hilo, I started yet another pair of Pomatomus socks. Between waiting for planes and waiting in the hospital, I was able to finish the leg of the sock.

Back on Oahu, I was able to work on the foot during my routine trips to the doctors. Finally, this past Thursday, I finished the first sock.

After working on the LSD Monkey Socks, the Lagoon Pomatomus sock were a real treat to the senses. The yarn is soft and springy and the colours are deep and restful. The pattern is just the right amount of interesting yet soothing. Now I just need to knit its mate, which I started at the Aloha Knitters meeting on Thursday.
Not only is this a great companion project while being out and about, it also impressed the hell out of my relatives. ;-)

Love the colour! I like the Pomatomus pattern a little bit more than the Monkey. :)

Opal, my condolences on the sudden passing of your uncle. Nothing more profound to say other than I’m sorry…
Now, those socks? Lady, you *rock* the sock-knitting world! I’ve turned the heel and am half-way along the foot of another Cookie A. pattern, Mona. Dontcha love her stuff?

i’m impressed too - lucky you know how to use your time for knitting; i get too distracted being out and so most of my knitting time is when i can find quiet at home….the sock and colorway are beautiful!

Dear Opal,
I’m really sorry for your loss. Big hug to you and your family. You have been having alot of hard times lately so I really appreciate the fact that you have still taken the time to blog and post pictures for us out here in cyber-land. Your socks are beautiful and fit so well that anyone would be impressed. Stay Well.

I’m so sorry about your uncle, Opal. I hope that time brings peace to you and your family.
The socks are lovely, definitely more relaxing colors than the last pair! And also glad to see that Bosco is still hanging around. He’s so adorable.

I’m knitting a second pair of Pomatomi…just finished the first. This pair is for my secret pal in a sock exchange in some Yarn Botanika “Radiance” in the colorway “Bluebells” (blue, white and turq). And I THOUGHT I saw a new Pomatomus on your needles in the photos from the Hilo trip! Good going!
