Fuzzy Goodness

Now that I’m finished with the Spring Things Shawl, I should be focusing on the Forest Path Stole. Instead, I’ve been kidnapped by a confection of pink fuzzy goodness.

You might recall my previous run in with this yarn was rather disastrous, but I was bound and determined to make it work for me. Eventually I landed on the gentle wings of the Luna Moth pattern. I did have some problems with the needle size called for in the original pattern. Instead of a size 7 needle, I shimmied all the way down to size 5 needle.

As much as I love working on this shawl, I still need to work on my FPS, I’m just about down with Tier 8. I had originally tried to set a goal of one tier a week. I’m still going to aim for that, but switching back and forth between projects really seems to disrupt my knitting mojo. So we shall see how it all works out.

Quincy particularly loves the Super Kydd that I’m using for the Luna Moth shawl. I found him something else to play with, but he doesn’t look very happy with the switch. Does he?

I really do love the way that yarn is knitting up! You found a good pattern for it.

Quincy doesn’t look thrilled, but I rather think he will survive playing with the snowman sock better than he would survive playing with a lace project that’s still on the needles. Personally.

Lovely, lovely. I know this is going to be another gorgeous shawl. I’ll be anxious to know how you like this yarn when the project is finished. Can’t tell you the number of times I have become frustrated with KSH.

Oh … I am a big sucker for mohair yarns! How does the Super Kydd feel? Would it be ichy? The soft baby pink is so lovely!

Oh, it’s lovely, Opal. I think the yarn works with that one! I’m having trouble focusing on the FPS, too. It’s such a beautiful shawl, but I’m so easily distracted :-)

Your Luna Moth shawl is so pretty! Don’t you just love when a pattern and yarn work so well together. I was a little surprised that it is only a size 5 needle making those lovely yos, but I guess mohair puffs up a bit. I, too, try to plan some knitting in repeats or rows per day, doesn’t usually quite work out that way for me.

I am so in love with that beautiful swath of lace. Soo lacy and puts me in mind of some Orenburg shawls. Wonderful!

Very soft and pretty looking! I think Quincy thinks you are knitting him a girlfriend or perhaps a security blanket? Anway, really lovely.
