It’s Official!

Posted under cats

I visited Cookie the Cat today (Friday by my reckoning) and she’s doing much better. She’s brighter, she’s vocalizing, and she’s got her appetite back. She seemed fairly happy to see us and she enjoyed some heavy petting. Barring any unforeseen events, she’ll be coming home on Monday. Yay!

As for Bosco’s checkup, things went swimmingly. He’s been micro chipped so he is now officially a member of our family. He also got vaccinated and all that other good stuff. He handled the car ride fairly well and he’s certainly bounced back from the whole experience well, since he’s been “helping” me type this post out from the start. It also appears as though the neighbors who originally had Bosco have moved out. The lanai* is completely cleared out and there has been no sign of them. Good riddance is what I say!

Here’s a shot of Bosco in a moment of rare inactivity.

Yay about Cookie feeling better! Good to hear that Bosco is now YOUR kitty since the neighbors moved out. I had a friend who moved, and her cat refused to move with them. Of course she’d go and pick him up, but the silly cat kept returning to the old house. She got to be friends with the new owners of the house. That doesn’t sound like what happened with Bosco, but it brought back a funny memory.

Wow, is that a jalousie window? The Hawaian Islands have very differnet weather than we do here in Oklahoma! LOL!

    Dear Opal,

I am so happy for you that Cookie’s medical condition is so much better! I’m sure she’ll be glad to get home even if it means she will have get used to the new guy in town. Bosco is lucky he found you and I agree with you. Good riddence to those neighbors who abandoned him. I hope this is it for drama for you for a long time. Here’s to better days and fun knitting!

Yay!!!! (I can’t believe those people just left him.)

Kat: So that’s what those windows are called? My grandmother had windows like that in the enclosed porch to her house (which she called a “breezeway”, I have no idea the etymology of that particular word) and on the door which would have functioned as a screen door on the front door of her house, had she had an actual screen door (the wooden door and the “screen” door that had that kind of window were separated by a small vestibule space). Anyway, this was all in Connecticut! :)

Glad that Cookie is on the mend! I was worried, especially when you mentioned the possibility of renal failure…especially with the list of unsafe pet foods getting longer.

I DO like this cat, Bosco! He seems like he has a personality overload, even though he has shaken your household up. Hopefullly he’ll settle down, now that he’s chipped.

So glad to hear that Cookie is on the mend and that Bosco has officially been initiated into the family. You’re such a good kitty mom!

Hooray for the good news all around. Isn’t it so hard to believe that people just abandon their pets? I’m also curious about how sneakily these people left, that you didn’t even notice them moving. Maybe they left in the middle of the night to escape some gambling debts or something, LOL! Anyway, hope you all become one happy family real quick.

I can’t believe these people … I mean, moving out and leaving their pets behind? If there is a natural disaster like Katrina, I can understand that … but just moving away? That’s outrageous! Lucky that you were there for Bosco! Take good care of him … which I think you would.
    Glad that Cookie is recovering.
