There are so many little things happening, so instead of trying to artfully tie them all together I’ve compiled a list of all the goings on.
- In a mad rush to finish knitting, I accidentally knit a sock for my mother. Ah well, I had been meaning to knit a pair for her. I’m frantically knitting the second sock so I can go back to selfishly knitting socks for myself.
- I have learned to never leave my Forest Path Stole laying around with live stitches on a DPN. Can you say “disaster waiting to happen”? Yes, I accidentally ripped out the DPN that had the live stitches of a Lily of the Valley block in progress. All is well now, but it was a sticky mess for a moment there.

- Bosco* accidentally caused Cookie the Cat a trip to the doctor. It appears she has a UTI, which probably was brought on by all the stress. She’s a peaceful cat who only asks for a little peace in return, only Bosco is anything but a peaceful cat. He really meant no harm, but Cookie is spending the day at the doctor and will hopefully come home with a simple diagnosis and some antibiotics. I’m a little worried that it might be something more, but I’m trying to maintain a positive outlook.

- I woke up with a ratty ball of acrylic yarn in my bed. No, I did not purposefully go to bed with yarn. I suspect that Bosco rooted it out from the depths of
hellthe storage room and carried it in. I do believe the boy is developing an affinity for the fiber. Thankfully he’s going for the cheap stuff.

- Finally, I learned how to make captions from the ever clever Crazy Aunt Purl. (Thank you so much Laurie!) I obviously still need to iron out the details and work on my technique, but I’m getting there! I guess the accident here is that I forgot to figure out how the words would scrunch up when I resized the picture. Gah! Cookie’s caption reads “taking a break from the chaos”, for those of you that don’t have Batman vision.
*Neighbors are still AWOL. Just in case you were wondering. Again, thank you for your continued support! You all are the bestest!

Poor Cookie! Hope everything is okay… I think it’s hilarious how you wrote about “the live stitches of a Lily of the Valley in progress…” No wonder the Muggles think we sound insane :)
PS - you also got a chortle about waking up next to a ball of acrylic… my bad kitty goes after the good stuff; last week it was my entire shelf of handspun…

Your babies are so cute! I just love to see pictures of them, especially snoozing.
I certainly hope Cookie is ok. FPS is gorgeous. And thank goodness Wolfie has never shown an affinity for my fiber room. He doesn’t even go in there. He does tell me when he thinks I have been knitting too long, and it’s time to play.

Dear Opal,
Thank goodness you were able to repair Forrest Path with all activty and chaos going on at your place. Hope Cookie is better soon. Males are always stressful. If there is mischeif to get into (read yarn) they will always get into it. don’t leave Forrest Path near Bosco for heavens sake! How do you make a sock for someone else by accident? I like the little comments in the pictures. Very nice.

Boy, it’s tough being a cat mommy sometimes, isn’t it?

Close call with the Forest Path! Glad it worked out well for you.

Oh, poor Cookie! I hope the UTI clears up rapidly now that she’s on meds. Those infections are SO dangerous for cats (but less so for females than males…I’ve lost a couple of cats to renal failure; both were males).
I think Bosco is a fiber cat…some are, some aren’t. Elvis doesn’t care about yarn, though he goes nuts when I bring home a new raw fleece. Wilhemina is yarn bonkers, and I have to hide it carefully in cat-proof containers, or I come home to find yarn all over my little apartment!
The Forest Path stole is lovely…but still, better you than me; when it comes to entrelac, I’m allergic! Just don’t like to do it!
Kiss the cats…special hugssssss for Cookie when she comes home from the vet. And huggggggggsss for you. Chaos isn’t easy on humans either!

What beautiful cat pictures, they look like little angels. Bravo to Bosco for his affinity for the cheap yarn. I am glad you & your Forest Path Stole survived those tense moments of recapturing escaped stitches, no minor feat on lace!
