A Decisions Is Reached

On Thursday I finally decided on a new project to lift me out of the knitting ennui that was plaguing me for the past week or so. It’s no surprise that it’s a pattern from the indomitable Cookie. I was lucky enough to have gotten a hold of 4 of them through Agnes and choosing amongst the was no easy task.

What you see here is Mona from Cookie’s Spring / Summer 2007 collection. The yarn that I finally chose is Essential Solid from Knitpicks in Dusk. I wasn’t able to really photograph the colour well, as it’s greyer in the photos then in person.

I chose a solid coloured yarn because I didn’t want the yarn to compete with the beautiful stitch pattern that Cookie designed. I’m really pleased with the result. So pleased that I haven’t been able to put this project down.

I’m closing in on the finish line of the first sock and the Forest Path Stole lies neglected in the work basket. Spring fever has whipped me into a frenzy of sock mania and I’m loving it!

Meanwhile, Bosco is loving my cute little sheep that my friend Jenny gave me for Christmas. No matter how many times I take the sheep away from him, he manages to ferret it out of its hiding place. The boy has brains!

P.S. It’s Day 8 and still no sign of the errant neighbors.

Lovely sock and lovely kitty. So glad the ennui and neighbors have disappeared. I just love Cookie’s patterns, and you certainly do them justice.

That Bosco is one cute cat. I, too am gravitating more towards solid sock yarn. It shows off the knitting so well. The color you chose is very pretty. I love Cookie’s socks!

I can completely understand why you love this furry boy so much! He is so handsome and lovable!
    The sock is lovely too!

dusk looks lovely – is it like a soft blue grey? on the knitpicks website it looks a little bluer – i like your pick of pattern and yarn. i’m working on her monkey socks and it’s addicting – i’m actually working on a second sock in a different yarn of the first sock i finished – just to see what happens….

Aw, Bosco’s got great taste in friends! (Well, hopefull he isn’t TASTING his friend too much…)
I love the way that pattern is looking! It’s funny, I bought some Essential in Dusk for my next pair of Cookie socks… we do have good taste, don’t we? :)

Those socks are looking gorgeous! I love the yarn that you chose too. Glad you picked a solid.

Tell Bosco his girlfriend says hi (hehe).

Beautiful socks! So little time, so much yarn! You will finish Forrest Path eventually but if knitting socks makes you happy then I say Knit Socks! As for Bosco. Possession is 9/10ths of the law. I had no idea he was into sheep.

Beautiful socks – amazing! I didn’t buy this pattern yet – but I think I’ll have to after seeing them! Great choice on yarn too! Bosco is too cute!

Bosco looks so adorable with his toy! I think the statute of limitation for idiots abandoning their cat and then expecting to get him back has run out. Just sayin’.

The sock is lovely — I’ve got some Cookie A. patterns too and think I’ll be knitting one up soon!

WHOOO HOOO…glad to have the blog back, glad to see new socks on needles, glad to see Bosco is still in residence (I am sure he is permanent)!

I just found a sock pattern in the IK Gifts collection from last winter…it may be from a prior issue, but I don’t remember it…called “Bells and Whistles” that I really like. Lace, a little cable, fun heels, it looks like, that I think I’m going to cast on in the next day or so. Shaped Triangle Shawl nearing the end of the third section!

    hugggggggggggggsssssssssss

Wow. I don’t know if I’d ever make a sock that fancy – I’d constantly be in my bare feet, making people admire my sock!

Bosco is such a cutie – I had a cat who loved her little Hartz Mountain blue felt birdie to death – for about 12 years LOL The bad part is when you’re awakened at 2:00 a.m. as they carry their “baby” around singing to it.

Bosco looks so cute with “his” little lamb, that is a beautiful picture, I think you could win a contest with it. Your socks are gorgeous! I had this cabled sock in mind for my silk/wool sock yarn but Mona would make a much more interesting sock.

Bosco looks right at home. Yours socks are really beautiful!

OK, I’m starting to sound like a broken record but I just can’t get over Bosco! He is so cute, has a certain magnetism or something. I love him with his little sheepy. Do you think the neighbors moved or something?

Those socks are so delicate and gorgeous!

[...] In a mad rush to finish knitting, I accidentally knit a sock for my mother. Ah well, I had been meaning to knit a pair for her. I’m frantically knitting the second sock so I can go back to selfishly knitting socks for myself. [...]
