Technical Difficulties

Posted under cats & shawls

Some of you might have noticed that the site was down over the weekend. I had problems with my previous host, but thanks to the generosity of my friend Jon I was able to get it back up and working last night. I also decided to change the look of the blog. I hope you like it!

Only one post was lost during the move, so I thought I’d give a quick recap as to what it was about. I’m on Tier 7 of the Forest Path Stole.

Bosco is settling in just fine. My neighbors still haven’t returned and I really am hoping that they never come back. I really appreciate the support I’ve gotten from everyone. How anyone could leave this sweet boy out with no food, water, and shelter is beyond me.

My stomach has been in knots with the worrying over whether or not I’ll be able to keep him as a permanent member of my family. The longer the neighbors are away the greater the chances are of it happening though.

Tomorrow I’ll have a much more substantial post. In the meantime there is basketball to watch and socks to knit, as I have finally overcome my knitting indecision.

Woohoo! I love the new look of your blog. It looks great and so does the FPS. Sometimes technical difficulties lead to good things. I am praying that Bosco stays with you from now on. If it were me, I’d hide him if those awful owners come back.

Your FPS is coming along beautifully. It will be truly magical when you block it. Can’t wait to see that part.

Love your little puss! He looks so sweet.

    Hi Opal,
I am hoping that with the new format my post will be accepted. For some reason it would never let me post before. =(
Your FPS is looking amazing..I really want to work on mine now! But I am trying to be good and finish up other stuff first..i.e. the store sample shawl.
Also, your Hidcote turned out lovely..
And Bosco is a cutie pie.
I try hard to not judge, but people who are not responsible for their pets really get to me. What is wrong with them?
There are people in my family that are like that..needless to say I don’t get along with them real well. =)
Good for you for taking that little guy in. He deserves a good loving owner and a good life!

Your FPS is truly wonderful - I love the color. I’m falling in love with the look of mine as the border finally progresses. I’ll have a photo up within a week or so :)

Insofar as Bosco goes? If the neighbors come back and are looking for him, just keep him inside and tell them he moved in with you after being outside for two days. People who don’t care for their animals don’t deserve to have them (in my opinion); if they couldn’t board him or leave him inside with someone to come and cat-sit, too bad. They just lost a cat.

I would also note that the law doesn’t seem to regard cats with the same care they give dogs. Animal control would be all over them for doing that to a canine but (probably) not give a toot about a feline. I doubt the neighbors would get anywhere by trying to file charges for “cat-knapping” and if they were to complain you could get any shelter to come to your defense.

    Everything looks great!

So, do you think the neighbors just cut and run leaving the poor kitty to fend for himself? Humans……sheesh.

Ooh, like the cute little fishies in your new header! Bosco is such an angel face :)

Very lovely … the stole is coming along great!
I think you said your neighbours had done this before, but maybe I watched too much CSI and American Justice, do you think something happened to them? I certainly hope it’s just that they are really really bad per-owners … that would be best for everyone! (It doesn’t sound weird to hear this.) ;)

Glad you’re back up and running - the blog’s new look is very nice. Also glad to hear Bosco is settling in well - he looks like a real prince!

I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re working on as I know how frustrating and annoying the “knitting indecision” thing can be and the project that gets rid of that is always something special!

The new blog looks great. And what a delight to see the Forest Path stole!

[...] There’s definitely more structure and you can definitely see more of the pattern. The only problem I have is the colour. I really wanted to make a pink shawl for a friend. Do I want to buy some Zephyr in pink or do I just continue on in Sage? Do I want to just use the Super Kydd with another design? In my typically indecisive manner, I’ve just put the project and the yarn on a temporary shelf and picked up the Forest Path Stole again. [...]

[...] I made a commitment and I wasn’t going to go back on my word. So when my nifty new needles came (thanks Meredith!) I dutifully took out the Green Blob and started knitting lace again. [...]
