Tonight I met up with Barb for an Aloha Knitter’s meeting. She surprised me with a cute little gift of some stitch markers in a little container and my very own black sheep tape measure! You’ll have to excuse the crappy photographs as it is late and there is no good lighting to be had. I’ve made the pictures tinier then usual so as you will not be blinded by the awful flash photography.

I have been wanting one of these cute little sheep measuring tapes for ages but I just couldn’t seem to justify the purchase for myself. The stitch markers are especially cute and in one of my favorite colours, blue.

I hope I was able to express how thankful I was to her because these small things really touched me. They are beautiful little gifts.
While I chatted, gossiped, and had a grand ol’ time with Barb, I worked on yet another Shifting Sands Scarf.

The yarn is a 100% Alpaca from Knit Picks, called Andean Treasure in the colour Summer Sky. Because this is a sport weight yarn, I’m using a size 5US or 3.75mm needle. I really love this yarn and I’m not surprised. So far I’ve been really happy with all of the yarns I’ve gotten at Knit Picks.
I am getting really bored with scarves, but I promised to knit a scarf for my mother so I am knitting a scarf for my mother because she is my mother and I love my mother. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. Luckily this is a really fast and easy knit that I can do while watching TV or chatting with friends.
I also have some socks on the needles. They’ll soon be ready for an FO blog spot. In the meantime, the projects that I am eyeing for future consumption are:
You’ll notice that I’m particularly attracted to the colour knitting. This is because I’ve not yet done any colour knitting and I feel it’s about time I’ve tried. I need to stretch my wings and try new things and all that.
I’m also toying with the idea of getting the new Stitchionary and designing a knitting bag for myself. I’ve been using the KIPer bags from Knit Picks and while they are practical and they function well, they are also very boring. So in the interest of not draining my pocketbook on a bag that I might get bored with before too long, I’d like to make my own. I don’t have many sewing skills to speak of, but I do think I have some mad knittin’ skills to speak of.
Do any of you have a favorite knitting bag that you would never part with? Where’d you get it? I might still be interested in purchasing another one if I find one tempting enough. Ya never know!

I love those ring markers! I got a nice canvas bag at Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, it is very roomy. I vote for the Monkey Socks or the Anemoi mittens. I look forward to seeing what you choose.

Squee! That sheep is so cute! Hmmm…I really need a new tape measure…I might need to find one! The stitch markers are gorgeous too.
I’m totally in love with the Tiffany mittens. I’ve always envisioned something like that in my mind but I’m too lazy to actually design it. The squirrel is adorable too.
I just use your standard tote bag for knitting. The dedicated knitting bags are awesome looking but a bit spendy for me.

I love those tape measures too - just cute as a button!
I think my vote would go for the squirrel mittens. They are very cool looking, though I would probably violate tradition and use different colors :)

Very cute tape measure! That’s one I don’t have but now I guess I have go look for one too. I don’t have a favorte bag. I’m a “serial knitter” so any empty bag that will hold yarn or a project will do. Keep up all the knitting. I for one can’t stand color knitting so I’m impressed you are doing it!
