Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. I had an extremely relaxing Thanksgiving day. A friend of mine said that she picked up the practice of journaling five things she’s grateful for every day. While I’m not nearly so diligent as that, I thought this was an extremely opportune day to give it a try.
- I’m thankful that I got to catch up with an old friend, who coincidentally taught me how to spin. She’s also the one who helped me purchase my Schacht and lent me her Majacraft Suzie, which is also why it became my dream wheel. (Excuse the repeat photograph, but times are hard when it comes to scrounging for blog fodder.)
- I’m thankful that the Dallas Cowboys won today and now has a star quarterback that has enabled me to fall in love with the team once again. And let me tell you all that he ain’t too bad to look at either. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
- I’m thankful for all the great friends I’ve made in the past year through knit-blogging and for all the friends that have stuck with me through thick and thin.
- I’m thankful for the wonderful mother I have. She’s been a real support to me over the years and has stood by me when there was absolutely no need to and when a lot of other people would have simply cut their loses and torn neck for nothing for the hills.
- Finally, I’m thankful for the cats that I’ve been blessed with over the years and for the cats I have now. They’ve taught me so much and they’ve given me so much love and amusement. They are truly a joy and a treasure.

Great post - I try to always think about the good things in my life, rather than focusing on what’s not going well. And I agree - the Cowboy’s QB is very nice looking!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving Opal! I’m thankful for meeting great online friends like you too. (And ya just gotta love a hot QB!)

Great post—-well, with the exception of that bit about the Cowpokes. I’ll let it slide since I like you so much :o)
Give poor Cookie some more turkey!!!

I’m glad your Thanksgiving was serene, Opal. I appreciate your blog and the shawl knitters list so very much. I’m hoping for a trip to Hawaii to see my son in 2007 and if I make it I’ll be looking for you. I hope poor Cookie doesn’t starve (LOL).

Opal!
Thank you for Salina praise! I do like it a lot. :) When you come visit NY (notice I say when and not if) you will come to the opera with me. :) Just make sure to check the Met website first and plan your trip accordingly. :)Is Cookie named Cookie because he/she is black and white like an oreo? And finally, another trembler I heard - how are you faring? Have power?
Cheers!
