Hit the road Jack.

I finished the Star Crossed Slouchy Beret (Ravelry) last night and I am ecstatic.

Stats:

Pattern:  Star Crossed Slouchy Beret

Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted – Cypress

Needles: size 10US and 11US

Started: February 12, 2010

Finished: February 16, 2010

This project just annoyed me to no end. It wasn’t the pattern, which was well written and easy to follow. It wasn’t the yarn, which was simply divine.

It was the needles.  I used 16″ Addi Turbo Circulars for the most part and there just wasn’t much to grab on to. My hands ached trying to hold on to what there was of it.

Evil needles. Very evil.

Now that the hat is done, I’m now finished with the Ravelympics. I could attempt to finish the Lyra (Ravelry) for the WIP Event by the 28th, but I really doubt I have the time for that. I have two beading classes within that time frame and I’m sure that’s going to sway my focus away from the knitting.

Let’s face it. I have the attention span of a hamster.

So I think I’m just going to do my own thing and be glad I was able to participate, even if it was for just a short amount of time.

Look who woke up!

Happy Wednesday, people!

Lovely beret!! Yay you for being done too! I can hardly knit hats on 16″ circs, hurts my hands too. I mainly use magic loop or dpns :)

Congrats on finishing the hat while battling evil needles.

That’s the exact same reason I didn’t join the Ravelympics. Maybe next time…

I love it! I really need a hat to go with my new winter coat so maybe I’ll check that one out.

Cute hat :) I didn’t even try to do the rav olympics this year. I could have with my WIP cable blanket, but I know it would never be done by the end of the olympics and then to start another project would make it even longer to finish the blanket. Oh, well there is always next year :) Good luck!

I love the hat – only one skein? And which needles would you wish you’d used?

    Congrats on completing Ravelympics!!!

Cute beret! So sorry about your hands. I’ve been dealing with something similar.

I am in the process of making two of these berets. I have already made one with absolutely no pilikia at all. But for some reason I’m having trouble with them this time. It’s not the pattern.

I too tried this using Addis and switched to bamboo in a hurry!

I love scary movies (enough so to go to every site that has lists of their top picks!) I however did not enjoy this list, it was Well there just wasnt any truly scary movies on it, I watched all of them, and well i was bored oh and people, really? If you would actually READ what the man wrote its his OPINION not facts, there is no proof that these are actually even that scary, but some people are scared by the wizard of Oz! but you dont see me being shallow and typical about it. oh and Dave, he was talking about OVERLOOKED movies, you lame-ass, none of what you labeled was Over-looked.
