First I was going to make this ball of yarn into the Damson. When that didn’t work out, I attempted the Travelling Woman. Only I was defeated by the sheer simplicity of achieving a certain amount of stitches after knitting a certain number of plain stockinette rows.
How much of an idiot am I? :P
So this sad ball of yarn,
is trying very hard to become the Sunbird (Ravelry link).
It hasn’t been easy as not only has my thumb still slowly healing, but I’ve also had the stomach flu since this past Thursday. I’m much better now and since there are no plain stockinette rows to confuse me, the shawl is taking shape.
Hopefully the third time’s the charm. :)
Now revel in the cuteness, but excuse the late night crappy photo.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Pretty shawl…I’m sure this time will be the charm.
Awwww, such cuteness has to make you feel better! right?
January 21st, 2010 at 7:21 am
You can do it! No yarn will beat you. Sometimes it just needs a time out.

So it looks like Sheyer’s giving Quincy a belly rub…well who wouldn’t want to rub Quincy on his belly?
I like the yarn. It’s kinda irridescent colored! Some yarns just don’t want to be knitted, though. We have to understand what they’re saying to us. Damned interspecies communication is such a challenge.

I’ve been thinkin’ about you. Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. I hope you feel better very very VERY soon!
(if Sunbird & your yarn don’t agree, I’ve got a list of shawls that I wanna knit on my last blog post) ;)

I hope it works out for you this time. Due to long exposure to your fabulous jewelry, I’m taking my first necklace and bracelet class the first week of February (and the day after my birthday).
January 23rd, 2010 at 3:48 am
I’ve put yarn through that too, and usually, third time is the charm! Hope the thumb is feeling better!
January 23rd, 2010 at 6:36 am
I like the new shawl – and I hope it works out! If not, you should sell the yarn and buy something that will behave better!
Hope you are all better now!
January 25th, 2010 at 9:24 am

This shawl looks like it could be a winner!
Gah the cuteness! :)

I love your Quincy & Scheyer yin & yang pose! I hope you are feeling well these days. Sunbird is the perfect project for your pretty yarn.

The cute is too much, illness, injury, and yarn have no chance in the face of such cuteness.
