Even after a marathon session of Pride & Prejudice, I still have most of a repeat to do before I’m finished with the not so Secret Project. I had a really hard time getting going on this project because I felt a shawl would have been more appropriate to work on. What I’ll try to do is watch Ugly Betty to finish off the scarf and that should be more in theme with a hot pink and black skull scarf. My hands have been aching so I’m not sure how much I’ll actually get done.
I haven’t actually measured the scarf, but this is turning out to be one really long scarf. The intended recipient is 5′7″ and I’m imagining this scarf hanging down past her knees like some kind of Dr. Who scarf. It’s making me rather nervous. This is the part of Christmas knitting that drives me up a wall.
I envision these perfectly made handknits and then I run into problems. I used to just throw up my hands and give up in disgust, but this year I’m trying to barrel my way past them. Somehow I hope they’ll work themselves out and that the recipients will appreciate them despite the flaws.
BTW, I’m a little behind on my emails. If you’ve emailed me recently and I haven’t gotten back to you, it’s because I’m trying to rest my hands. I seem to have spaced out and missed a few days of my medication. Bad Opal! No biscuit!
