ECF – Wire Flowers

One day at Wire Play Day I learned how to make Wire Flowers. I’ve been fooling around with different ways to use them. So far I have nothing to show for it, but I thought I’d share the flowers anyway.

I thought of making earrings, but it’s really hard to make two identical flowers. So I’m thinking bracelets and necklaces. In fact, I have a necklace design floating around in my noggin. I just need to find the time to work it out.

Unfortunately I have a weekend packed with activities, a shawl that needs to be knit, and a cross-stitch* project that keeps tugging on my attention tails. I also promised my mother a bracelet.

My head is dizzy just thinking about it all.

I think I need to zen out with the Scheyer.  As you can see he’s not only got the right idea, but he’s also forgiven me some.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

*I didn’t spend that much on the kit for that fairy. I got it years ago when it was half that price. I can’t believe how much it costs now!

If the flowers could be made large enough to make a shawl pin, with a stem w/leaf to be the ‘stick’ — would be beautiful and snag free. Might be just the thing. They are beautiful just the way they are. Have a good weekend.

I only buy kits when Michaels is doing 40% off or I have a 50% off coupon. Besides, I have WAY too many projects sitting around already. I try to not even look at that stuff. Although I did recently buy this: http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=05-2371

Cute flowers and they would make quite a fun bracelet.

I see the kitties are loving mommy again!

I have hardly any kits. I buy the books and then all of the floss for whatever project I want to do. I think I could pay the national debt off with all of my floss. Well… probably not anymore! ;)

    Love the flowers!

I see others beat me to the punch with the idea of shawl pins. That was what I immediately thought of when I saw the flowers. They are so cute!

    buttons or shawl pins

Your wire flowers are beautiful. Are they hard to make and does it hurt your wrist with all that bending? Scheyer should be on a meditation poster as he has achieved enlightenment, too sweet.
