I decided to pick up a long lost hobby.
You know. Since I had nothing else to do.
So I made this.
I am supremely unhappy with the face, but there was only so much I could do with such a small surface to work on. Otherwise I’m okay with it.
Why did I pick up cross-stitch again?
It all started with a marathon session of True Blood over at my friend Blogless Sandy’s house a few weeks ago. It was a 90F day and the humidity was typical for Hawaii, which means it felt like it was through the roof. To add to this Sandy doesn’t have air conditioning. Blech.
To continue on, Sandy and Blogless Maria were needlepointing while we watched and I had the now huge Clapotis on my lap.
Guess who was happy and who wasn’t? Yeah.
Plus, they were working on some really beautiful pieces. I’ve never gotten into needlepoint but I’ve cross-stitched on and off for most of my life and my mother cross-stitches on and off as well. This is why my house is littered with cross-stitch supplies.
And this is how I came to pick it up again at 1am on a Saturday morning.
o.O
It’s not over yet either. I’m already working on another piece.
Whereas the Buttercup Fairy took me about two weeks to finish, this next one should be a quickie.I started this on Monday and this was my progress as of yesterday morning. (Yeah. I was too lazy to take another picture this morning, but I’m halfway done with the mantle.)
I just love this cat! Maybe a little too much. I think someone is getting jealous.
I just can’t seem to win with the boys this week.
o.O
Happy Wednesday, folks!

Very cute and I do agree cross stitching is a whole lot more comfortable to do in the hot weather! Enjoy! The only thing I don’t like is that it is sooo expensive to frame your handiwork when it’s done.

Boy, that cat really needs a ton of cat treats!

Dang that cat gives good stinkeye.

Beautiful! I used to cross stitch, but my old eyes just can’t take it any more. Maybe if I can talk the eye doctor into some stronger bifocals, I’ll pick it up again, but my real love is knitting.
The season’s almost here! I can’t wait. I’m even going to watch the Steelers and the Titans tomorrow night. The the Cowboys on Sunday! Sorry you won’t be able to watch it with me. I’m just hope they’re showing it in my market.

Lovel cross stitch! I’ve not done any in a long while either. Pretty kitty!

Love them!

Pretty projects, opal! Small canvas versus large wool, hmmmm, I can see why the canvas won.

I love them! I came across some cross stitch recently that was almost complete. I should think about getting it finished up.

I tried but cross stitch and I never hit it off. Maybe now that I have more patience…wait, never mind that last part.
Yay for cute kitty things and kitties! I’ve been tempted to make up a few knitted toy cats and probably will once I get through most of the Christmas knitting.

The cat in real life is just as beautiful as his profile in cross stitch (although he would mind wearing a christmas bonnet I presume!)

Those Britty-kitty designs are SO cute.
Are you going to do the turkey too?

You cross stitched that in that time?? MG. Cute! I stitch slower than I knit, which is saying something.
I love the kitty too. Even if the Other Kitty is giving you the Death Glare.

O-my! I’m impressed! :) Counted Cross Stitch I’ve done in the past … but since I can’t count … made it challenging. Oy … It’s amazing that I still knit! :) I do like the kitty in the santa hat. :)

I love it. My home is also littered with cross-stitch supplies and books. I think I could open a shop…. At least the books are coming in handy for inspiration with the color-work going on. I’m not sure what to do with all the little needles though!! ;) I must get that damn zebra out again. White and black…… yada yada yada….
