ECF: The one with miscellaneous stuff.

In order to get to my friend’s house at 9am this morning, I got up at 6:30am. I had a few things that I needed to get done and I just need some alone time before I head out the door. I need coffee time, ya know?

Turns out our morning date got pushed back to lunchtime.

So I got up at that ungodly hour for nothing.

Well, maybe not for nothing. I’ve got some photos of earrings ready for listing and look! I’m blogging!

Here are the earrings I’m going to list in the Etsy shop sometime this weekend.

I did indeed ply on that day of indecision and I have yarn to show for it. Unfortunately, I’m too lazy to get off my arse and photograph the two skeins.

As for the Tour de Fleece? I’m still spinning. After the plying, I spun up a skein of singles. Then I started another batch of singles yesterday. I only got 2 ounces done so today I’ll be working on the rest of the 2 ounces.

I’m trying to do a low-twist single. My feet/legs don’t like to treadle slowly on the wheel so this project is taking a lot more time, patience, and concentration then my other projects.

I can show you the fiber I’m spinning.(“Rainforest” from Hungry For Handspun. 100% South African Fine)

I didn’t make it to the vampire movie. I had too many things to do and my tummy was upset. I did manage to get my prescription for my medication later that day though. So things are much better now. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Other then that, I’ve been working on custom orders, but they’re all pieces in styles you’ve seen before. So instead I’ll regale you with a hibiscus growing out on my lanai. It’s not the best picture in the world, but it’s better then yet -another- picture of a cat.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I’m so ready for a nap!

Sorry your day didn’t go as you had hoped. The flower is beautiful! And cat pictures are always nice :)

Holy crap that is a HUGE hibiscus.
Oh, and those ambery ones in the middle? If they’re still in your shop when I get a job and my first paycheck, they shall be mine. If not, bookmark where you got those stones/beads because I lurves them and I must haves them and they will be my present to myself (along with the other three earrings pages of yours I bookmarked). Oh yeah and I’ll need a necklace to match the ambery drops.

I’m going to turn you into a technical spinnner yet!

The hardest part of the whole low twist thing for me was treadling.. Muscle memory takes over and I constantly have to remind myself to go slower. I think maybe there is a way that I could draft faster so that I could use my usual treadling rhythm but that sounds like a whole lot of work.

    o.O

I hear ya, I was up today at 7 to get our garage sale out and ready to go by 8. I’m soooo tired right now. Can’t wait to see the skeins when you get them photo-ed!

The hibiscus is beautiful, but I don’t mind seeing pictures of the cat!

That fiber is gorgeous. I’m anxious to see how it spins up.

I tried to order Bradie James from my catalog, but they said he was out of stock! Oh well, I’ll have to find something else…

Your coiled earrings are very attractive. I would love to learn how to do some of the wirework like you do …maybe some day I should just wing it, (ha ha…don’t know how that will work out?) Doubt there are any classes around here – at least that I know of :)

As the recipient of some of your custom pieces, I thank you :)

When it comes to knitting, kitties or flowers, I’m good with whatever you choose to display.

It is all beautiful. The spinning will come around when the body is up for it.
