So you know I’ve been knitting, but I’ve also been working on different things. For instance, I whipped up a couple of pairs of earrings for the new shop last night.
These are called Shanti Earrings. I did one pair with 16 gauge wire and ice blue freshwater pearls.
I did another pair in 18 gauge wire and smoky quartz briolettes.
I’m not sure if you can see it in the photos, but there’s a different feel to the earrings because of the different wire gauges. I’m not sure which one I like better. Luckily, I don’t have to choose.
I’ve also been spinning. Here’s a peek of some singles ready to be plied.
And here’s a picture of the batts that’s currently on the wheel.*
It’s good to be busy. :)
Happy Tuesday, folks! What’s keeping you busy?
*Both the fiber I spun the singles from and the batt came from Hungry For Handspun. She be my crack dealer.

It’s all beautiful.
BTW, Greg Ellis has signed with the Oakland Raiders. Gonna go research some more, then I’ll post a bit about it.

Oh man, those are some gorgeous cathedral earrings. Wish you were around when I was looking for them and had the jawline to pull them off.
Pretty spinning! The next up at bat looks good too.
I love how your’s moms – mitts? socks? are coming out. The colorway looks almost planned.
Cats. Crazy for heat. Even mine, who is currently running and hiding from me outside. Little pill.

household stuff is keeping me busy. I spent the entire damn day (okay, from 11-3) going through old school stuff. Ugh. more to come, too. It is really hot, here, too.

I am in deep lurve with the earrings. But you knew that. How is it that you make me covet freshwater pearl earrings when I’ve hated freshwater pearls all my life? (It’s true – they offend my sense of order because pearls should be spherical, dammit.)

LOVE the earrings! I would totally have to do a fancy hairdo to be worthy of wearing earrings like that.

Those earrings are so beautiful and elegant! I just keep studying all the details and skilled working.
I know what you mean about the fiber crack dealers. I’ve been trying to resist, but that has led me to stalking used wheel prices. That could turn into something of a false economy o.O
