Remember the sock that I started? Well, I was merrily knitting my way along until this happened:
I’m not sure how this came to be. All I did was pull out a little bit of it to untangle. Then a huge chunk of it came out. That’s when it all went to hell.
It’s so bad, I had to send it out of state for help.
/sigh
So what’s a girl to do when a sock project is in crisis mode? Start another sock!
I pulled out another bag from the PSC and came up with this gem.
My dear friend Becky sent it to me ages ago and I’ve been saving it up to knit for my Mom. It’s just the perfect colorway. Not only is it in Dallas Cowboy colors, it’s also the Duke Blue Devil and Orlando Magic* team colors.
Becky must have put some really good mojo into this yarn, because it’s knitting up pretty fast.
I wasn’t too thrilled with the way the colors were playing out at first, but it’s growing on me. The more I look at it, the more I like it.
Regardless of whether I like it or not, my mother loves it. That’s what really matters here.
I have to say the yarn is really nice to work with. It’s soft and buttery and there are zero tangle issues. What more could a girl ask for?
Meanwhile, we’ve been having a heat wave here. Last week we broke four or five record high’s. The air conditioner has been cranking and still, the cats continue to bask in the overwhelming heat instead of resting in the cool air.
Cats are nutters.
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!
*I don’t want to talk about them or the NBA Finals. /sigh

I live in Sacramento. Basketball is not something we do here. /sigh
I never trust skeins. I always cake them. I don’t like getting surprised while knitting. Yes, I do have issues, but they are mine. :p

Yikes, tangles! Well, glad you got Cookie to help you out. I like untangling most of the time but there are times when it’s even too much for me.

I love the way the repeats in the yarn are working out!

It has been quite mild this summer here. It may be into the 80F tomorrow … first time in June. :)
Yeah, cats are nuts … but they always got away with it because they are so cute!

I hate yarn with spaghetti guts with a deep intensity! In an ideal world, I would do as Cookie does and always rewind before I start knitting. Do I? Well, is it an ideal world …?

Looking good, Opal. I love the blues.

Lovely sock–your mother will appreciate it!

I, too, hate it when yarn spews out it’s innards. I have spent hours undoing those messes. sigh Love the blue socks. We would love some of your heat!

That tangle looks very scary!
I have a skein of BMFA Rio that got tangled horribly and has been sitting in a bag ever since. Mom likes to untangle stuff but even the Rio has defeated her!

OH! I hate when that happens. At that point I usually hand it over to Paul. He takes his time and gets it untangled (I think he gets practice with tangled fishing line). I usually freak out and make it worse. Hugs!

Holy yarn vomit, batman! Good thing you have help – even if it is out of state. ;o)

You do know that cats are solar-powered, right? If they don’t bask in the sun? They run out of juice!
(lovely sock…btw)
(((hugs)))

That is quite an unpleasant surprise! I’m glad you sent it to such capable hands.
The new pair do look like they are working well. I know what you mean about the start, but sometimes that happens.

we don’t have an ac, but the fan was moving the air around pretty nicely….i’ve been keeping to small projects since the biggest one (cleaning clutter) is taking up most of my time….have a nice tuesday!

Love that yarn! Funny, when I saw the photo, I thought, hey that looks like Dallas Cowboys yarn. Then I scrolled down and saw my name, and said, yep! It’s knitting up nicely, too. Sadly, that lady has apparently quit dying, because her shop has been empty for quite some time.
I hate yarn barf, but strangely enough, enjoy the challenge of untangling it.

Sorry to hear about your tangles. I hate when that happens! I agree with your Mom. Love that blue yarn! When I looked closely at Scheyer I noticed some bits of wool fluff on him. Has he been helping you spin?

Ahhh. This is where learning macrame comes in handy.
The new sock is great. I like doing slip stitch patterns with yarns that seem to alternate color every other row.

yarn barf. I actually kindof love it when it does that. I’m psycho that way.

I have so been there with the tangly yarn. I’m glad someone will sort it out and you can move on. Pretty new sock, too, sorry to hear about your NBA team. At least your kitties can keep your spirits up. Looks like Scheyer was digging around your fiber and needed a nap.
