I would have preferred to have spent the day resting and recovering from the root canal I had done yesterday. (It went as well as could be expected, but I still have a sore jaw.) Instead I worked on listing some new yarn in the shop.*

I’m all about fat and squishy yarns right now. Only I have a thin 3-ply on the wheel at the moment. I’m really struggling my way through it and I’m tempted to put it aside and throw something else on.
After all, I have multiple knitting projects. So why not multiple spinning projects?
What I’d really like is another spinning wheel. That way I can dedicate one to fat, squishy yarn and the other to delicate, thin yarn. (What? You think it’s easy switching out the wheel?)
If this is going to happen then I need to stop buying the shinies and the fluffies and start saving my money.
It’s all about will power.
Ha!
Scheyer is pretty surprised I even know what that word means.
Happy Tuesday, folks. I have some news to share tomorrow, so stay tuned. :)
*All those skeins of yarn are on sale right now. So get’em while you can.

having a limited budget and unlimited imagination can be such a drag. ;-)

You’re not the only one thinking about a LadyBug, missy.

Mmmmm…Ladybug. Is the root canal complete now? Do you feel recovered from the experience?
xo

Squishy is good! What’s wrong with squishy?

Don’t you have two wheels? I thought you had a lendrum and a suzie?
June 9th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
They are all gorgeous, Opal. As always. Um, you have will power? Ooo, show us some! I want to know what it looks like.
June 9th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Right now I’m fighting the urge to cast on to several more projects. Must finish more current projects. Maybe… :) I did finish two today.
Good luck with the will power. I might be able to lend you some of mine if I don’t use it. :)

Great yarns! Cute Scheyer! Will power? What’s that?

Ouchy on the root canal!!
I don’t know anything about wheels, but can’t you just flip in another bobbin and go for it?

Your cat has gorgeous eyes. And that yarn is quite tempting. So soft and squishy-looking!

Willpower when it comes to yarn does not exist for me. I gave up years ago. I admire your restraint. Wish I had some, but then the next new, gorgeous yarn comes along, and I am hitting click and send!

The Blurberry parfait and the Tequila sunrise are particularly toothsome :)
Sorry to hear that your RC (shudder) is still causing you discomfort. I hope that all passes soon.
And I wanted to thank you for queueing up the Vortex shawl on Ravelry – otherwise I probably would have missed it completely. I’m making a blanket from the pattern, got the yarn Saturday and started as soon as I got home. It’s a lovely pattern and I’m really enjoying the project!

Pretty yarns! I think you definitely should get another wheel – I know what a drag it is to switch projects
June 10th, 2009 at 6:00 am
Oh, sorry – I also meant to say that I hope you are feeling better!
June 10th, 2009 at 6:43 am
I see the Tequila Sunrise has been snatched up already. Rats. Will power … good luck. There has to be some trick to maintaining it. Eyes on the goal, perhaps? Hope your jaw has stopped hurting.

Beautiful yarns! I totally understand the wheel lust. In fact, I’m currently on waiting lists for two different wheels. Oops.

I’m glad your root canal went well. I can’t wait to hear the news!
June 10th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I know what it means, I just have a hard time grasping how it’s done.
Oh no, the root canal! Well, at least it’s over.

Your kitties are very photogenic, it’s like they know they are posing for us. I hope you are feeling better after your root canal. As I recall from MSWF, you did very well with the Schacht Lady Bug. I have used all three of my wheels to spin one of my projects. At the very least, you need one for plying.
June 14th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Spinning is the only thing where I am afraid I might lose my “touch” for a project and start spinning at a different thickness part way through if I would have more than one spinning project going at one time. Thus, only one spinning wheel (for singles, that is. I have my old one with a Woolee Winder for plying.)
The handspun is beautiful, but that goes without saying….
