Denial is my god.

Just so you know that I haven’t been totally neglecting my spinning wheel, here are two new skeins of handspun.

Raspberry Truffle

Primeval Forest

The dentist didn’t have good news. He cynically offered me antibiotics to help calm the tooth down, but he very loudly pronounced “root canal”.

Feh.

I’m praying the antibiotics work. Root canals are icky and denial is my god.

The June Summer Clearance Sale is now on at the shop. Since it’s been doing well, I’ve decided to add a few more yarns at the same discount over the next couple of weeks or so. Make sure you check back often. :)

It’s been in the 90′s here. The only thing I want to do is hermit in the air conditioning and watch Season 4 of Weeds. I think Quincy agrees.

Happy Wednesday, folks!

I’m very much with you and Quincy on being a hermit in the AC. The only difference is that I’d be having a Futurama marathon. :)

  2. Becky Says:

I’ve had a couple of root canals, and haven’t had a bit of problem with them. It’s just like getting a regular filling. But then, the guy who does mine is a root canal specialist. They are all he does, so he has them down pat. Good luck with yours!

  3. Hattie Says:

Yeah, I have had one root canal and no trouble…but then I’ve heard of people having trouble with them. Hopefully if you need one it will go well!

  4. Cookie Says:

    Fingers crossed the meds work!

Where did that cat come from?! ;^)

    xo

  5. Stacey (just Stacey) Says:

Hey! It’s been in the 90′s here too… but we just got a nice afternoon thunderstorm. I love that.

    Rest… enjoy the ac.

  6. Carrie Says:

I think a root canal is like the dentist in general. It always seems much worse when you’re anticipating than it is in reality. Well, until you get the bill.

  7. Megan S. Says:

It’s 90 degrees here too!! Thank god for AC.

    The raspberry truffle is gorgeous!!

(BTW, I thought the sale was over and it was safe to come out? You’re killin’ me!)

  8. Dee Says:

I agree with Carrie, the anticipation is usually worse than the reality.

Hope it all goes well and is over quickly.

  9. Roseann Says:

I hope your antibiotics work well for you and that you are feeling better. Pretty handspun, makes me want to spin 2-ply. I am currently spinning the second of 4 bobbins and I do so look forward to some plying. I wonder if Quincy is chasing mice in his sleep.

  10. debbie Says:

i love the primeval forest colorway! btw, what’s rambouillet for the raspberry truffle? this sudden heat wave has left me too lazy to do anything – though i’ve found some solace in crocheting squares for hotpads…happy wednesday back at you!

  11. Carrie K Says:

    Quincy looks prepared to hibernate.

I hope the antibiotics work but better a root canal early than later.

  12. fleegle Says:

Gorgeous! So sorry about the tooth. Maybe the antibiotics will let you avoid the entire ordeal. I hope so.

  13. Jeanne Says:

Gorgeous yarn – love the Rasberry Truffle. Sorry to hear about the tooth – crossing fingers that antibiotics work!

  14. Jane Says:

Well do I know the painful reality of root canals! I will pray for you. In the mean time, your yarn is terrific!

  15. Sarah Says:

…oh. Ever notice that denial and dental are a letter apart?

Mmmm…raspberry truffle is such a lovely yarn. Of course, when it comes to the food, I prefer my raspberries apart from my truffles. Now I’m thinking of the walk-in refrigerated room at Costco and those lovely, lovely raspberries.

Yes, ac, kitty, and whatever programming gets you through sound like the best thing.

    xo

  16. Sue J. Says:

So sorry to hear about the root canal. I am in your denial congregation. I am absolutely OCD when it comes to my teeth, all to avoid going to the dentist. Love the handspun. Hope the antibiotics work. We would love some warm weather here. It’s been in the 40s here with rain, and, yes, Yellowstone is getting snow.

  17. JessaLu Says:

Gorgeous spinning!! (and ick on the root canal…good luck…)

  18. textillian Says:

Root canal? Oy! Hopefully the antibiotics work.

    The handspun is lovely.

  19. Karen B. Says:

You’re having a terrible time of it, Opal, and for that I am sorry. Your creativity hasn’t suffered though (from my perspective).

Fingers crossed for no dental surgery.
