The shawl love goes on as I continue to plug away on the Lyra. The 16″ circulars arrived in an extremely timely fashion and I just have to give a shout out to the online site I bought them from. The Addi Needle Shop has all the Addi needles you could ask for at the same prices as the competition and free shipping. Who could ask for more?
I wasn’t sure when to transfer the shawl from the 16″ to the 32″ circs, so I just kept knitting and knitting. I ended up with something that made me want to plop on the head of a cat.
I finally took the chance and transferred the shawl onto a 32″ circular. It looks much better now and I was able to get a few shots of the emerging pattern.
Closer.
Since the Lyra is rather intensive and challenging and makes my brain hurt after awhile, I decided to start another shawl that’s less taxing.
The pattern I chose is the Boxleaf Triangle by Anne Hanson. The yarn is a mystery, but it’s also a delight to knit.
While I was knitting yesterday, I finally watched Caprica. Has anyone else seen it? I’d love to know what you think. I think I need to watch it again. I keep going back and forth on how I feel about it.
Today I have the joyful task of taking my dear Scheyer to the vet. This promises to be an adventure as he’s sleek, all muscle, and skittish as all hell. Making him extremely hard to capture. He’s not called the Tripod Terrorist for nothin’.
Do you think he has any idea of what’s to come?
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Wish me luck!

I want to knit shawls, but I usually lack the attention span. Yours are gorgeous, Opal…can’t wait to see them finished!

Shawl Love!
Kindly remind our Megan that she does have a blog and showing us her shawl on said blog would be a nice thing. Plus some of us are still waiting for Cabana Boy news.
/ahem
I love getting to nag you.
He totally knows what’s coming. Look how he’s wearing his ears. o.O
Good luck!

Never mess with a cat when he has that look! He knows, he knows! Your shawls are beautiful as always. One day I am going to do one of those!

Oooh, feeling the lace love!! Lyra is going to be stunning. I am too scared to even attempt it. Thanks for the link to the Addi sight. Hugs! Good luck with your boy.

Caprica…do talk. I am this close (shows tiny span with fingers) to starting a shawl. I think I’ve waited a decent amount of time to recover from Icarus. But in the Caprica spirit of things, am thinking about Adamas or Shetland triangle…i want repetition.

I definitely think he looks suspicious but then I suspect that cats like Scheyer *always* believe something they don’t like is about to happen.
The Boxleaf shawl is lovely and looks simple and pleasant to work. The color is gorgeous! I look forward to seeing it completed and send good thoughts on about Lyra which will be utterly spectacular. I know, should I attempt to undertake something like that, I would wind up grinding my teeth right down to the gumline!

I am so glad to find some one else who is knitting the Lyra in 2009 I seemed to have missed the 2005 Lyra knitters. I will continue to check out your progress.

Lovely, as always. And, um, good luck with the cat. Bandages, iodine, suture kit…

I hope your vet visit with Scheyer went well. We took Caitlin & Colin on Saturday so I know how much “fun” you are having. Lyra is something special and your Boxleaf Triangle is divine! Thank you for sharing the Addi Needle Shop info.

Don’t let the cats model Lyra, I beg you. :)
Haven’t seen Caprica yet but it’s in my Netflix queue!

I know what you mean about head hurting from knitting. It’s the reason for multiple projects!
The shawls are gorgeous!

You have a wonderful set of lace in progress. They both have their own beauty, and look like great choices to alternate between.
I hope everything went well with the vet!

Your lace is looking wonderful! It’s a good idea to have a second project to switch off to when you get too much “lace brain”.
