Nasty vog and tiny beads don’t mix.

Did you know that working with seed beads means projects take forever to finish? I’m working on a necklace for my mother and I swear it takes an hour to create an inch.

I do have a couple of bracelets that are nearly finished. They just need pretty clasps. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow night.

Another thing that I’ve been working on is two-needle beaded beads. Only I ran out of crystals, so this is yet another unfinished piece.

My eyes can only take so much of the tiny beads.  So I’ve done a little bit of spinning. The roving is from The Yarn Wench and it’s called Gypsy.

This is all I’ve got on the first bobbin.   (Excuse the crappy photo. My wheel is in a corner with bad lighting.)

I also managed a few rows of the Caricia Shawl. I only have one more repeat until the bind off. What I really need to do is put the beads away and a good dose of TV to finish it off.

Ha!

I scoff, because we have nasty southerly winds (Kona winds) which blows in all the vog from the Big Island. It’s like the smog in Los Angeles from what I hear.  It gives me nasty sinus headaches and it really throws me off my game.

This nasty stuff is supposed to clear out tomorrow. I’ve got all my fingers crossed. Figuratively speaking.

Happy Tuesday, people! I hope you’ll keep your fingers crossed for me too! :D

The beads are beautiful, so is the roving. I used to have one of those toy bead weaving looms that you used seed beads with. I don’t think I ever finished a single project.

That is a lovely ufo collection. I’ll cross whatever I can to help you. I hope the new day is better. That crud induced sinus trouble certainly does disrupt life.

Each one of those beads looks like a lot of work. No wonder it is taking so long.

The new yarn is great. Hope you feel better, and the vog goes away.

You have my complete sympathy; this spring has been especially tough on the sinuses and Myria and I have both had nasty and on-going headaches.

I haven’t done any real beading in years, but I remember how I loved putting together the sizes, shapes and colors. Just do be careful about eye-strain; it’s real easy to do with beads.

I think your “Gypsy” colors are gorgeous – a kind of trick I like to use as well. Taking a variety of a color and then pairing it with a variety of its opposite really makes things pop! Sometimes you don’t want something that emphatic – but sometimes you do :)

What pretty beads! Have you thought of designing a row counting bracelet? Your spinning is beautiful and I covet your shawl. I learn about the nicest patterns on your blog.

the two-needle beads are very interesting. I love the colors.

You make those lovely beaded things? They’re so cool! I’ve never seen anything so pretty! Sorry to hear about the vog! That’s the downside to living in Hawaii, I guess. We have blooming trees at the moment. That’s the downside of living in a place that has distinctive climates. Everyone here is walking around with runny eyes and sneezing.

Spinning is gorgeous as always – you do find the nicest rovings to use!

    Hope the vog clears up!

And I mean those are small beads!!! I don’t think I would be able to focus on them with my eyes for very long. :)

    Loving the new roving.
