Now that I’ve started spindling again, I can’t seem to stop! Behold! The Quantum Spindle is naked no more.
I filled that spindle with one-third of CJ Kopec’s Just Because. It seems like it took me a week to do it. In reality, it took me about 3 days. Not bad, right?
I probably wouldn’t have spent so much time on it, but I had to stay away from the spinning wheel. I needed to rest my leg as it was went all wonk the weekend before last. It’s much better today so I’m going to try spinning at the wheel for about a half hour today.
Speaking of the wheel, here’s one of my latest skeins.
2-ply – 158 yards
100% Merino
4.4 oz – approx. 10WPI
fiber by CJ Kopec “Irish Morn”
I seem to be on a real CJ Kopec jag lately. Her fiber is just so lovely to spin. It’s soft and fluffy and drafts like cotton candy melts on the tongue.
Quincy seems rather annoyed that the weekend is over. I can’t say I blame him.
Luckily, there’s a new episode of The Tudors to watch. Yes, I finally succumbed to the lure of Showtime. Jonathon Rhys- Meyers? Here I come. ;-)

That is quite a full spindle. Are you going to ply it with the rest of the skein once you spin it.
Also, pretty yarn and I’ll eventually get to enjoy the Tudors through Netflix. Should be fun. :)

Quincy can join the club.
I hope your leg is feeling better and behaves. Great spinning!

It must be very satisfying to spin such beautiful fiber :)

He does look annoyed. Almost as much as Maggie right now. She is growing by leaps and bounds and is having a hard time sitting on the window sill anymore. :D I hear it’s the nature of a Maine Coon cat

Lovely fiber, lovely yarn. But I am still not tempted to do anything with fluffy batts. I shall leave all that to you :)

Very pretty stuff. I must admit, the light blue/brown combo is growing on me.

LMAO that’s the series, the Tudors, that I have on Netflix, the one whose first disc is on wait!!!
(I’m gonna steal that skein of yarn.)

I’ve been spindling more, too, and I actually spun on my wheel today. I hope your knee feels better soon. You are making beautiful spindlespun in the meantime. We started Season 1 of the Tudors and like it, too.

Beautiful spinning! But why must you tempt me with these fibers just before Maryland Sheep and Wool?
April 20th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Wow, you got a lot done! And it’s very pretty, too.
April 20th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Looks like that spindle works great:-) I’m glad you’re able to spin a little on your wheel again.
April 20th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
I don’t think that I will ever spin, but it’s OK. I get to enjoy your lovely work instead. :)
April 20th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
Yup, I’d say that’s a fairly full spindle. I’m sorry that you’re still having leg problems, but I’m delighted to see you spindling. Love those colours!

That is some lovely spinning and spindling, Opal! I’m glad you found a way to get in your fiber while taking care of yourself. I hope you were able to enjoy time at the wheel again, and can return to it whenever you want.

“It’s soft and fluffy and drafts like cotton candy melts on the tongue.”
*Very* nice simile. ;-)

That is truly a gorgeous roving! You really did get a lot on the new spindle.
And the Tudors! OH!! I have to buy the first season because I want to start at the beginning, so I won’t watch it yet. I’m pretty sure I would let Jonathan Rhys-Meyers eat crackers in my bed! Heck, I do!!

Beautiful spinning and I love how you describe the way the fiber drafts. Yum! ;o)

Lots of nice yarn on that spindle! You did good! Sorry to hear that your knee is still acting up. You’re too young for that. And what the heck is Quincy complaining about. Every day is a weekend for cats!

Lovely yarn, as always. And Quincy is adorable! Love the expression. LOL

I put spun about 2 ounces of fiber on a spindle recently…and then put it down because I needed to spin on the wheel. I am not that efficient on the drop spindle. Also, I am impatient. But that spindle is full of spindle-spun lovliness.

Gosh, such a pretty color of fiber, and it spins so beautifully.

4 bedroom home with 2 kids/2 dogs and its a bit gut-wrenching but my wife and I are truly optimistic people and attend the Chapel in Libertyville, IL. We attended your Live session in the Grayslake, IL campus last month and really loved it. I had printed out your sample budget and was working on it just prior to my job exit. My goal now is to most to get our financial house in order and trim all expenses which are not vital.
